Jeez, some of you lot, porridge with cream????

18 mile (hilly) or 21 mile (not so hilly) commute into work and I have to be at work at 6.30 which means the time I leave I cannot stomach food it actually makes me want to be sick.

Water, maybe a coffee, a few jelly babies at half distance.
This fitness lark is getting addictive

Porridge (what else in the Highlands?) though (and this is where I give away my Englishness) with, semi-skimmed/water, banana and a dash of maple syrup. Then a cup of Illy espresso in a latte.

A full-house of different carbs/sugars and caffeine to give it all a kick.

The only downside is that I need to leave 45 mins before setting off to avoid seeing it all again at the top of the first steep climb!

This morning, I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, followed by a whole grapefruit. Sets me up nicely.

I only ride in 5 miles to work so I tend to ride without eating anything, then when I get to work I have a piece of dry granary toast, with some baked beans and a poached egg. I think I have convinced myself that's healthly, anyone care to shatter this delusion?

Sorry but you lads are both wrong, its all about the Weetabix.

x3 + a handfull of sultanas, followed by 3 slices of toast with jam, honey or peanut butter, and a glass of orange juice. Where it all goes, and how I digest it at the same time as cycling I have no idea, but I need it. The odd day when I have run out of weetabix or bread, I have struggled.

 A cup of coffee does not constitute breakfast; it's just a drink

How about two cups? (That's mine at the moment. Although I then have more coffee and a muffin when I arrive at work.)

I'm still relying on the Sugar Puffs... I find i have more energy at the start of the day than at the end. The ride in always seems easier.

I'm on water too. Nothing else stays down that early in the morning.

    Down or in? :)

@Cafewanda - mine's slightly out of necessity - I need to keep the pounds off for the next couple of months. After that, back to toast and cereal. And the muffin, of course.
