Cheerios - no doubt. Tried Honey Nut Cornflakes once and ran out of steam after 6 miles... Never again. Quite like bananas on toast tho'

Wholemeal toast covered with a ludicrous amount of honey. 4 slices sets me up for the day nicely without being too heavy on the stomach.

It's the honey that does it... instant sugar hit into the bloodstream

I have half a banana 'n a glass of water before I leave.

But..sometimes (like just now) when I get into work I have a sneaky sausage 'n egg roll with a cuppa from the local cafe.

Went down a treat...could have another one

If I leave very early then I too tend to just drink something before setting off. But that's only provided I have eaten well the night before.

Generally I have a pint of milk with Ovaltine and cereals (rice krispies, coco pops, mega munchers... whatever my son is going to have that morning)

    Half a banana?

Does anyone else have breakfast before they leave and then again once they get there?

    Yup.

Breakfast 1: granola bar and mango juice.

Breakfast 2: Porridge, banana, chicken wrap, half pint of skimmed milk, cup of tea.

Nearly time for Lunch 1. Omlette today, I think.

Beans on wholemeal toast and a glass of juice. Complex carbs, protein and low fat - juice provides immediate energy burst.

My mate puts sugar on sugar puffs. He eats the layer of sugar and then puts on another layer until all the sugar puffs are gone. He has bad teeth.

Marmite on toast for me. Sugar puffs taste good but I find eating them just makes me more hungry!

Oatmeal porridge with plenty of sugar.
  • A christmas pudding, followed by an ostrich egg and truffle omelette
And maybe a hog roast, if I'm planning a longer ride.

To drink, 3 pints of Mead with a dash of Lea & Perrins

    Yes, of course!

    1) Coffee, Porridge, with salt a little cream before leaving the house
    2) Coffee + scone(s?) on arrival at work

I suppose technically #2 isn't "breakfast"... but hey, who's pedantic!!

    Cheers,

Yep. I used to be able to ride to work on just a mug of tea, but now I've been diagnlosed as a diabetic, I have a bowl of either Weetabix/Weetabix Flakes/Oatibix Flakes before riding.

Then when i get to the office, it's either a peanut butter sandwich or something a little more substantial, as was the case of yesterday, a baguette containing; sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, mushrooms, beans & hash brown.

I've actually lot 4 kilos in the last two months, my fat loss had stalled because I wasn't eating enough and I felt like crap.

However, the only reason I cycle, run and swim is so that I can evenutally live out my dream of existing solely on red wine, cheese, foie gras and the occasional cigar without looking like a weeble.
