They're invited to all the classics and have to come b/b they're a PT team but when Flanders peloton passed me just outside of Oudenaarde, which team had the most riders in the cars, and even behind the whole race caravan? The orange bombers. In fact when the last two, young, scared-looking guys came through no one saw them as we all had our backs to the roadway going to our bikes/cars. Biggest waste of 8 riders' space if you asked me, when others would love to have a chance. And I'll bet they're none too happy to be there as well.
The last sentence hits the nail on the head. It's the Pro Tour's problem, not Euskaltel's.0 -

He was never going to ride the tour this year anyway.0 -
Thanks FF for the links to WCC. Great stuff to see it. Too bad they didn't follow Vino's attack.
It's amazingly sweet how uberoptimistic the Belgian announcers are about Gilbert's chances of, firstly, catching the leading 2 when he dropped Valverde and Evans, and then, we he was recaught, they were certain he'd take third. Until the sprint. They weren't over to top about it just their turn of phrase gave him all possible chances to do well. Good stuff to see. When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0

Don't mind him winning so much now? :P
Edit: I realise I am stating the obvious....0 -

Don't think Sporza did?0 -
Best classic of the year so far.
As for Vino having no respect in the peloton - I don't hear many names past or present voluntarily coming forward with information that could help clean up the sport.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

Rick pour moi le francais c'est facile a comprendre, mais, par contre ik spreke geen vlams, alors j'ai aucune idee au sujet des commentaires des annonceurs flandrien. Mais je suppose qu'ils le supportent aussi fortement que les walloniens. When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0

Ah, but that's like Phil & Paul when some English-speaker attempts such a thing.
Breath-taking attack by Gilbert, but it was a firing-all-guns-at-once act of desperation and the descent after favoured the two-man TTers in front of him.0 -
So, to sum up:
1. Vino's back whether we like it or not.
2. Two Thirds of the podium looked dodgy.
3. I got a mention from Harmon on another Spring Classic
4. Dirk Hofman has something to do with motorhomes.Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -

Lol, your lack of knowledge amuses me

He made a good showing on the Mur de Huy last week too.
Just a matter of time before "Dirk Hofman" appears in the forum.

Kolobnev eh? It just occured to me that there was this guy right, in 2007 right, who ride a bike right, let's for giggles call him A. Kolobnev. Well did you know that this guy happened to share the podium at the worlds with none other than a P Bettini and S Schumacher?
How did P Bettini end his career? That's right, the cycling equivalent of a shotgun wedding. Whatever happend to S Schumacher? And no, the answer doesn't have anything to do with F1.
I can see some folks could detect a certain stench from the LBL podium. But in the case of a certain A Kolobnev, it's VERY circumstantial. When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -

How are they going to get him to Belgium, though?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

By way of a European Arrest Warrant perhaps? He could stay holed up in Kazakhstan for the rest of his time as manager of Astana but he is likely to come to Europe at some point and they might be able to nab him then. Of course, with Vino being an upstanding member of the Professional Cycling Community who never did anything dodgy in the recent past like, say, taking performance enhancing drugs, he will surely present himself to the authorities in Belgium if and when they decide to charge him with any offence. Why wouldn't he hand himself in, he is innocent, isn't he?.............

Vino and Kolobnev to stand trial on 'private corruption' charges because of this race...
Someone has to bring him down.0 -
What I don't get is.......Who was the victim?
As far as I can see this happened between 2 consenting adults someway ahead of the race. Against the rules but part of the culture.
I could understand Katusha sacking Kolobnev for loss of win and points. But that didn't happen.
It all seems a bit meh, after 5 years.0
