Now for yet another new stem

that's a bargain!! They do have abit of a funny shape tho, can put your hands in a wierd position, think it's got too much backsweep personally, and be careful when fitting them to the bike, the paints soft as fook and scratches very easily, getting the shifters on without scratching them takes serious patience!!

Ey patience, in the end I had to use fairy liquid to slip them on, and even then I still scuffed them slightly, barely noticable but still a PITA. When I first bought them I thought they were great, but I much much much prefer the kcncs on the mojo, if I remember rightly the 9 and 5 degree thing is pretty standard for truvativ, but I may be wrong

Mongy shoes! If all else fails the soles look so big that you could probably store your sandwiches in them.

If I have time I shall knock one out, a t shirt I mean, not have a Jimmy Floyd. That reminds me, Ill have to paste up the other designs too.

On the ordering front, some new solid end grip clamps in gold superstar flavour and 3x Lagwire self adhesive c clamps as cable ties simply arent working well in my bid to tame my dropper post cable

You calling me a fan boy fart face?? :?: :)

The reviews are completely transparent on the 5 and I had a Lappy in the running also but I've been demoing, researching and planning for quite some time now.

So, nothing to do with the recent award or previous 3 annual efforts

Out of interest (and a genuine question) did you ride the lapierre and the 5?

Yes mate, Lappy at FOD & local trails from Worcester bikes and the 5 at Cannock but they wouldn't let me take it home for the local trails.

Both were a huge improvement over my 04 enduro but it really came down to price and I wanted a maxle & front 15 so I thought I'd build my own.

The lappy is a sweet bike too and would have plumped for the 514 which is comparible in price to the 5 pro (but I thought the components were the weak point)

Believe me, many sleepless nights on the decision

As trivial at it may seem...

    One of these:

The black ones have been scarce on EBay, plenty of white and lime ones though..

weight is just under 1600g for the pair. they are quick release but use a specialized standard called OS28 which doesnt fit all forks aparantly so i will find out when they get here if they match the dropouts on a double agent fork.

    Carbon 456 and PC991 chain....

I'll still be finishing the Hectik, but I fear by time I do it'll be winter again... such is my entirely poor justification to buy something i've wanted for quite some time. Hopefully have it all built up before the weeks end. :)

Fucking Specialized, they have to keep re-inventing the wheel (no pun intended).

Why can't they just be conventional.....

it should be ok on the double agent as the dropouts are flush with the inside of the fork legs. they dont tend to fit fox forks as thse dropouts are recessed so there isnt space for the os28 interface wont quite fit.
