The "I have just ordered..." thread

  • Not sure yet. I was a bit of an impulse buy to be honest. Going to get rid of the Bullit, decided the Ragley is spot on for everything I do other than actual DH and silly FR stuff. And to be honest, as much as I love the Bullit, it's no where near as much fun on the trails as the Ragely and it's not really an ideal det up for DH. So I'm gonna build my dream DH bike and then just hammer the crap out of the Ragely for everything else.

Booked flights back to Whistler this summer the day I got back in January, so at least it will get a good thumping then.

Already got some pretty new Saint kit on the Bullit which I'll use.

As for other parts, I'm going to take my time and be selective. No more impluse buys :) Will start a thread and get some opinions.

Fork options are fairly limited so thinking of either some Fox 40RC2's or Boxxer Teams (either in white ;)). Will pick up the forks 2nd hand, unless I can get a deal. Not keen on spanking another £1-£1.2k on forks.

Good choice of tyres! The 2.35" comes up big though so check your clearance. Let us know how you get on with XR2s as well. Presume you're running the 2.1" on the back?
The XRs are fairly porous so be prepared to spend at least an hour per wheel with a soft brush and soapy water, shaking and tilting the wheel to get all the tiny little sidewall leaks to seal. It's a right pita but well worth it once they're done. In the 2.35" I suggest you double the qty of sealant recommended in the NoTubes instructions.
My abundant supply of MTFU is reserved for use in dry, sunny conditions.

Cheers for the advice mate! Yeah i'm going to try the XR2 on the rear to make sure the rear always goes before the front.

    Zero budget BMX is getting

    New brake cable
    New pads
    New bearings
New mahoosive cone spanner to sort out wheels
    New chain
    New bottom bracket

Not very good at this zero budget lark... Might need a new freewheel too but I'm just ignoring that for now

  • SuperStar Ultra Mag Pedals (Black with red pins)
SuperStar Grips (Black with red lockrings)
    Superstar Balance Seat Clamp (red)
    SuperStar Spacers (red)

It's all going to be sat around for a bit until the new ride is sorted at some point next month.

Trying to decide between the Joplin, I900 and Reverb posts at the moment.

Can't wait to get back in the saddle :D

+1, you know the rules. nothing can be hidden in the "what you just ordered thread" muwahahha
  • Not actually building this time. Going for an off-the-peg bike instead and just changing the usual bits you'd expect to change (contact points) and adding a dropper post.

As for what it is, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. What I CAN say is that it's bouncy at BOTH ends for a change.

dont expect the paint on those pedals to last too long. or the pins for that matter. i ended up paint stripping them and loctiting some dmr terror pins in instead of the original ones.
