Just ordered some Raceface Sixc bars. They've been tempting me at Merlin for months and finally gave in as a birthday treat. They're white instead of red but can't really complain for £76. First ever bit of carbon for a MTB.0

I have to be honest, carbon bars are probably the last thing i'd go for. just me though0 -

I saw a video once of a guy riding, in Scotland I think it was. And he took a tumble and his bars snapped. There was a guy laughing saying something about carbon bars iirc.0 -

Yeah I'm really not worried about them being carbon. Raceface is pretty good with its carbon stuff and the Sixc's are DH race bars. One video really isn't enough to go on, there will be plenty of alloy bars snapping in videos elsewhere I'm sure.
The only reason I haven't had anything carbon before (apart from the carbon forks on the road bike) is only because of the cost, nothing to do with trust in the material or anything. I do honestly believe that carbon is stronger than aluminium if everything else is equal and it's done properly.0 -
How much do they weigh?0

As I said, it's just me I think. That'd just be in the back of my mind. Plus I'm a fat git so that'd put more pressure in them0 -

Claimed 220g. I think there's a picture on Sicklines showing the actual weight at 234g.
And Kev, pretty sure I probably weight more than you, if not then about the same0 -

one of these for the c456

A hope bottom bracket and some chainring bolts for the new build.
Only need brakes, tyres and forks now. Unfortunately the forks I want aren't avaiable till July and tyre choice is a nightmare!0 -
Ritchey TrueGrip Grid MTB Handlebar Grips

E-thirteen Xcx replacement upper slider in black, the backplate and guide are going on the HD but I'm not keen on the white on the 456, so ordered a black one to replace it. With my works components chainring I don't need the full on top and bottom guide.
Probably selling the LG1 as it won't fit the 456 either so that also needs a guide, so an XCR from superstar should do the trick, plus it's lime green0 -
Bigger frame to replace the Rock Lobster as its just too small for me, knees are hitting my chin lol!
Not sure what to do with the Lobster, its such a nice ride... shame0 -
GT could buy it off you and store it with his multitude of frames..... or you could swap it for pics of his mumIt's a boy , It's a boy , I Shouted Running Into The Street With Tears Running Down My Face.....
