If a few of the dog shit brigade get the huff and take there muck spreading hounds elsewhere then Go-Ape has done a service to Clwydian mountain biking.

Only problem with zip lines I was speaking to a couple of lads at Rivington before Xmas and they said they were riding underneath the zip line when half a pint of 2nd hand lunch landed just in front of them some fat kid had burped up his Big Mac

Easy.. because they'll sh¡t themselves or throw up on the way down and that'll keep 'em slim & trim

Back to the more serious matters..

Ian W your fellow campaigners on your Facebook and Go-Ape.org pages are the ones who've done the damage here. Generally you have the support of Ramblers who hate anything that doesn't walk.
As a 4x4 owner for over 20 years I've put up with the lies and selfishness that walkers and ramblers used to get us prohibited from a lot the green lanes and bridleways

Now as a mountain biker I am seeing the circle of selfishness come around again this time at another soft target, namely mountain bikers

I don't understand what's going on and the fact that other people will still be allowed to use the forest just as they are now. But even so, in the name of stopping exclusion of people, we should exclude all people who aren't dog walking

We don't deserve exclusion from any area because ramblers and walkers think it's their God given right to have sole mandate on an area.
Perhaps you should ask your fellow campaigners to open their minds a little. The world is changing and like garlic bread, the future is in zip lines...

Oh and that will certainly win the hearts and minds of mountain bikers.. Suddenly Cindi Lauper's song "True Colours" comes to mind..

I am a little confused Ian w? I've been to the Go Ape at Rivington (and a bloody good laugh I had too). There was no exclusive areas for Go Ape except a small fenced area at the begining and end of each section for security. Ramblers, dog walkers, and cyclists where not prohibited from any area of the forest.
So what excatly is your beef? Because this will bing in more people to see the forest and maybe you won't have a reserved parking space anymore? As I stated eralier this sort of thing will improve the whole visiting experience of the majority of visitors to the forest, are you and your group really that selfish that you would deny Joe Bloggs of this? If you dont like it then i'm sure the forest is big enough for you to STAY AWAY.

Ironically, thanks to the original poster, I couldn't resist the Go Ape whilst at Cannock today so gave the evil company money and did the course :D (one section twice)

Was amazing fun and I'm glad the company can use my money toward making new courses all over the UK :D

i did something like a go-ape course once, it was the beligan para commando mountain assualt course, it genuinely was remarkably similar!!

i was exceedingly shit and terrified of that so i think as much as i think go ape is a good idea, i will leave that for the less cowardly.

this isnt me but you get the general idea:

Yeah, stick it near Wrexham. Might stop all the scousers coming further West, LOL!!!

Honestly, I think they shouldn't be put up...except maybe old quarries where they are not a disturbance to anyone at all.

Sounds to me like you don't know much about Go Ape. They generate much money for the area, and only use a small amount of land. The 'huge towers' they build are on the actual trees, with rope ladders up to them, then there is a zip line, which goes through more trees to a small landing area. They won't get in your way at all.
There is one at Dalby Forest, and all you hear is the occasional scream, with a faint 'zzzzz' noise.
I've been to the one at Buxton, and it was fantastic! The staff there were telling me about some trails that MTBrs used and how they worked together. Also, whilst I was there (a mate took me for my birthday) there was a hen party going on. Win Win Win!
I bet that Go Ape will mean more cyclists go there!
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
