if TV was concerned about the gap coming down surely lifting the pace was better than putting himself into the red from which one can't recover with 15km to go. If his companion was not on paper a better sprinter then TV needs spoken to by his DS.

I think MG's point about how he was thrown a bone in the 04 TdF is a valid one. The reason his mad attacks are noteworthy is because people know who he is. But if he hadn't done that stretch in yellow he would be nameless break fodder, rather than TV, the break fodder.

    I disagree here.

I would still really like and enjoy him reagardless of his past Tour performances. An attack cannot be classified as exciting or not based on a previous performance.

Recent example: Tondo in P-N - I wasn't overly aware of him.

You weren't overly aware? I'd never bloody heard of him

Bit disappointing for Millar to drop out of the top 10 on the final stage. Shame he couldnt have managed to tag onto the end of the back of the group that caught Contador and Valverde on the descent.

Good performance by the ex-mtber Peraud coming 9th overall. Be interesting to see how he does this year. Would make a superb domestique for van den Broeck, if vdb can replicate his giro 2008 form. However, vdb didnt do well in this race at all.

    Didn't he have a puncture?

EDIT: apparently not. that was on the previous stage (http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/millar- ... paris-nice). Oops.

Think that was on the previous stage where he caught up. Might have had some misfortune on the final stage but the article suggests he couldnt keep the pace

FWIW this article suggests he punctured on the last stage.
