Traksel and Flens are not concerned about Stannard anymore... he's done
  • Nail biting. Will it end in track stands?

Agree - Ian looks most tired but no-one is exactly fresh - he could still win but at the moment looks weakest to me.

    Traksel, Stannard third
  • That's it for Stannard. The Dutchies have worked him over a bit in the final 5ks...

GREAT. The VS rider can't be bothered to close the gap for the third time in a row so Stannard gets a gap....and then loses it.
Do you realize Traksel has been at the front the whole day, more than Stannard and Flens?

No one that rides for that long in those conditions really deserves too lose! Gotta feel for Stannard and Flens!

Stannard did well to get back on one final time. Good win for Vacansoliel though.

Blazing got there first, and I'm easily confused!

  • Stannard shouldn't have tried to attack as many times as he did. He was obviously smoked and attacking four or five times wasn't a good idea...he should have probably waited until last 2km and gone for one all out effort.

    Good job to all three.

Ian worked himself over with flens nudging in the break...

always making surge efforts to come to the front.... adds up over a hard day

  • I thought stannard looked strong, kept getting put on the front and doing too much IMO?

Been out, so just caught the end of the live feed. Looked like a great ride in the conditions by the three out front. Great win for Traksel and Vacansoleil.

Good ride for Stannard too. At 22 maybe one to watch in the cobbled spring classics in the next few years with a bit more experience?

    If a little gay....

Interesting to think about which teams are in the Tour invite slots, on current performance.
Vacan and Saur in, BMC out, IMO.

  • It is definitely better than the other one which made me shiver. This one is a little bonkers for my liking...!

I hope Spilak is ok...he got hit by a car today in GP Lugano which got onto the course. Bloody inept drivers. Much of the field withdrew:

Sky were riding, so if there is any video, their fansite will have it.

    These abandons are quite funny.

WTF is EBH doing in the 3rd group.
For those who wonder, EBH had a puncture when the decisive break went and abandoned shortly after.
