If we're going prog, I used to love Marillion's album covers

    and
    misplacedchildhoodmc5.jpg
But they also gave us this monumentally bad offering

I discovered him with this album, but a year or so later, I heard Born to Run for the first time. Nothing was the same after that...!:lol:

Not sure if it's already been posted but the is one of my faves.

Doesn't work as well on screen though.

    Voodoo Bizango - 2014 - Dead - Hit by a car

What about The Rolling Stones - Satanic Majesty's Request.

Sorry, but I can't post a picture. Probably wouldn't work well on the screen anyway but the original cover was different(in a 3-D kind of way).
  • I think this is the first one I bought.

Must have took a lot of courage to admit you bought one of their albums. I'm here in the States and still find it difficult to come to grips with the fact that I actually liked a couple of their songs, let alone admit it to anyone I actually know.  :wink:

Van de graaf generator! It's been a while

    Reminds me of this:-

Gong and Faust were never as good as Van der Graf. Pete Hammil is doing a tour this summer I'll try and get to the Glasgow gig - van der Graf occasionally get together but don't see anything in the near future.

    However, I have this -

    clear.jpg

    clear.insert.jpg

-the original clear version, in the attic.

Wonder if that is worth anything?

Ah, you guys are talking my language! Thirty years on and I know every note, word, scratch and plink on this off by heart. Their finest work I reckon.

For me -van der Graf were the best Prog group ever (Court of the Crimson King is the best prog album though)

My mate - who was a Springsteen fan - did me a tape of 'Nebraska' on one side and 'The River' on the other - and I played that tape over and over for years. Loved it.

My mate didn;t like them so much - but knew I would. :D

I'm in the states too and I still prefer their version of Louie, Louie over the Kingsmen.

    Great group

I agree - one of my all time fave bands. However, IMHO, "Dance of the Lemmings" was their creative high point

I had a sticker of this on my A-Level chemistry folder, I failed chemistry but the album was brilliant, though it turned out to be New Orders last decent record.

A group out of time - they came too soon to be included on the 'That's what I call a bunch of w@nkers' compilation.

True, "Run" is an excellent track.
