  • Actually ride one of them more than 6 times!
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

Compete in my first road race for 14 years, get under 26 minutes for a 10 and 1.10 for 25 (previous PBs 24.20 and 1.03.17). But mainly to get fit and enjoy my cycling again

Did my first road race of sorts (Go Race crit)
Got nowhere near 26 minutes for a 10 due to every TT night being windy but mainly due to lack of fitness. Best was 28.19
Didn't ride a 25 as my 10 form was so poor.
I have got fitter but nothing near what I hoped as I just didn't get out to ride enough.
I am, however, enjoying my cycling and WILL hit my aims for 2011.

Alpe d'Huez in July is my primary goal (any other climbs in the area will be a bonus).
    :)
Did the Alpe (3 times) in 1h 26 min, which was better than I had let myself believe I could achieve.
Did the Croix de Fer (loved it) and a couple of other climbs.
    Did one sportive (loved it).
I had put 'do a time trial' on my list of objectives but it didn't happen. I did win a race, however (Mother's race at school sports day  )

Next year....more mountains, more sportives, join a club.
  • Wanted to cycle at least 1000 kilometres - as you can see, not quite there yet. Will do it though!
Visit Ireland - all of it! Cycle in Dublin and know fear!!

    I wanted to:

    1. Break 24 mins on my club 10 - FAIL. 24'12 was as close as I got.
    2. Break 60 mins for a 25m TT - SUCCESS. 58'30

Not trying to be smart but...

Unless my maths is way off that means you averaged just over 25mph for a hour but couldn't do it for 24 mins.

    Weather conditions?

Impressive stuff, fast times and great riding.

Some getting national racing in the bag too! Well done to the guys on some amazing records, even if they were your own... it still counts.

I think I'll carry better training through to next year which should help me get more gains and the best part is that I am still enjoying it after my first full year of training.

Quick 25 course and slow [spoco] 10 course. Same as me, 24:20 on our club 10 course but 57:21 on a quick dual carraigeway 25.

Not all courses are equal. I'd be expecting a 21 on levens or Hull.
    Manchester wheelers

    PB's
    10m 20:21 2014
    25m 53:18 20:13
    50m 1:57:12 2013
    100m Yeah right.

    That makes sense.

Not to mention all the other factors, like if you were out drinking the night before and it's a 9AM start. why do they do that.
