That's not small (unless you're seriously overweight). I'm 26 and a bit inches too and I have to buy jeans at least 1, sometimes 2 sizes larger just to get them over my thighs.

Where are you guys measuring? Top of the thigh or round the quads?

I assume that that's round your quads, Nap D.

26" is just 3" less than my waist, so unless I suddenly discover that I've only got one leg ...

  • just measured thickest part of the leg with my ipod headphone speakers then measured that on the tape, wife gave me a resigned look of exasperation as I did this in me dressing gown

Jesus, I never even thought of that. It's only two less than mine.

Maybe people are doing it wrong. Measuring the length of their thighs, from hip to knee perhaps?

Not that it means anything, I was a far better cyclist when my legs were skinnier

I do find they chafe when I run though.

sorry about that, just trying to establish your BMI without causing offence.
so when posting your measurements and you dont want to give away height and weight please state whether you are athletic or a lardarse  .
body fat measurements would be useful if you know it.

you do have to be careful with identity theft these days so at the end of your post please include your full name, address, dob, bank details and mothers maiden name

Are you sure that weight's right? Just over 8 stone at 6'!!

I used to be just under 70kg at 6' 1" and was seriously skinny, can't imagine being nearly 3 stone lighter.

Do you get blown off your bike much? Out of interest how old are you? I could never put on weight until my mid 20's and since then it has gone on big style, losing it's the problem now

17, 18 in a few months. I seem to fall more due to ice than actually getting blown off, but I've never had to deal with high cross winds as of yet.

The thing I find hardest is finding cycling clothing that fits.

Exactly, when I was 70kg I had all the "poke your tongue out and you'll look like a zip" or "if you were wearing boots you'd look like a golf club" gags. I'm fairly wide across the shoulders but the thought of being 18kg lighter is incredible. Good for clmbing though.
