It was in respect of people who have played the race card as was previously mentioned in the forum, and been undone by their actions. In the case of Mr Singh I believe he was a bit drunk and emotional and by all accounts a decent bloke and does not deserve comparison with Mr Dizaei.

ah but singhy wasnt playing the 'race card' (whatever that may be) he was playing the 'do you know who i am' card which as far as im aware is racially neutral.

Mr Singh did play the race card with the comment that he was the head of the CRE, agreed that Dazaei will hopefully after completing his alloted time span on this planet have his very own demon in his very own special pit of hill.

Mr Singh it was agreed was a decent man, who got a bit drunk and let himself down in an embarassing manner.
  • sorry, cant see how saying youre the head of a quango is playing the race card???

The threat re the race card was implicit, ie he was threatening the officer with accusations that his actions were racially motivated, however it probably was the attempted head butt that really that really got him into trouble.

I will see if I can find the transcript of the court case tomorrow at work.
  • I'll probably get shot down as a bleeding-heart liberal, but if you want the law to be upheld, then the law should also be upheld in prison. (Unfortunately, in this case, because he's used the race card to do nothing but further his own ego while minorities still suffer. )
  • This man is a disgrace to the Met and a totally distasteful human being. I understand his nick name was the ' teflon kid'.....he now has a long time to think about his actions.

He's not so teflon that sh!t doesn't stick to him. I saw today that he was assaulted in prison and had te contents of a slop bucket poured over him. Nothing worse than a bent cop in the slammer, cons hate them just as much as kiddy fiddlers.....

Re: the race card in the Gubrux Singh case, the QUANGO has quasi judicial powers of investigation with regards to to the police, it was a very real threat using race as a prime mover of the threat. I didn't find a transcript using Westlaw but I did have a browse through cases regarding tribunals, one thing I did find, which wasn't a suprise, was that the tribunals are fair and even handed. Which will come as a suprise to the Daily Hate readers.
