Nothing to add really, you're pretty well spot on.
There is a general point that all organisations take extreme care where discrimination could be cited. So any HR or disciplinary proceedings involving gender, disability or race get the fine tooth treatment in our company - and all places where the individual's defence could involve claims of discrimination.Where the neon madmen climb0 -
Congratulations to Waab al-Baghdadi for taking this on and running with it. Must have been very difficult.
Not being a policeman or have had any interaction with them, I am unable to take a view on racist behaviour/attitude in the Met or other force by officers or the upper echelons towards members of the public or colleagues. However, given this case involved two individuals from ethnic groups, would the outcome have been different if Mr al-Baghdadi was of European ethnicity? I hope to think that if the facts of the case were sound then the answer would be 'yes' but as some pundits have pointed out in the press, maybe the IPCC would have not gone past first base with it in those circumstances. Hopefully a good result for every UK citizen.0 -

Isnt there someone on here who said he wont accept applications from Africans because he has enough applications from Europeans?0 -

Not about colour or race or religion or sexual preferences just about nationality and its perfectly proper (and practical) to do that. lets not hijak this thread though should we?0 -

I think you may find that is because, due to us being part of the EU, we have to let members from other EU countries in and not discriminate.0 -

I love the way everytime a post which relates to the real world a lot of people live in (in relation to race issues) Teagar thinks it's his duty to educate us in a world that would be utopian, but the fact is the real world is not.
I'm not saying it's right. Peace and harmony and multi-culturalism  is something we should aspire too. But it pi55es me off when the likes of myself point out certain realities only to get condecending comments from someone who is well educated, but in my opinion still "wet behind the ears".
BTW, we all live in different realities, mine is one of a working class, skilled manual labour background. Of which I'm very proud.
I can't stand the term "multi-culturism", hence the  icon.Tail end Charlie

The old, in-defensible "you're too young to understand" argument. Always a winner.
Bit pathetic you need to resort to that? It's not like I can suddenly age 20 years? Lets see you actually use some logical arguments for a change - beyond "I worked here so I should know" or "I'm older than you are".
I was surprised with your generalised statement that all non-White people in the UK use race as an excuse when they're rejected for a job. It's horribly stereotyped, falsely generalised "observations" that cause the friction.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -

You understand how things (should) be, I understand how they are at least in the world I live in. You obviously live in a different world to myself. I've no problem with that it's the way it is.
When I see your posts I can't help but think of a county court judge who came from a priviledged background and lives in a cottage in the cotswolds, trying to understand why these "chavs" on some council estate just can't all just get along like jolly good fellows.
They live in different worlds.
No you can't be 20 years older but I know life has changed me over 20-30 years it does, whoever you are.

Let me get this straight: You're defending your pretty poor generalisation that all non-White's at some point use their ethnicity as an excuse when they are rejected from an instutition on the grounds that you live in a different world to me, where such an observation is legitimate? Sheesh.
For the record: Education doesn't make you smart. People are smart (or not). There are plenty of stupid people who are educated. Even you must know a few.
Back to the OP - there is real danger that in hijacking the issue of institutional racism, which was certainly an issue and possibly still is, for his own corrupt schemes, this policeman has left the door wide open for those with less noble motives to roll things back in terms of racism in the police.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. Are you going to attack everyone without your views? the worlds against you baby were not all equal its jhust the way it is and must be. If we were all equal id find a way to be more equal and rule the world mooo ha ha ha ha0 -
BTW teagar Its interesting you hold yourself up as the moral and intelectual yardstick that we must all imitate.
Other than your age which you are guarding what else have you done in your life to give you these views?
It would be a shame if it were spotty youth posturing with intelectual guidance recieved directly from others and others alone.0 -

It's a forum - you give your opinion.
If you disagee with someone, you're entitled to say so.

I aim to argue on the validity of the actual argument, rather than who says it. It doesn't matter where it comes from. You need to assess each argument on its own merits, regardless of where it comes from.
I take it you don't!Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -

I'm not debating with you. I made the point that whenever anyone males an oservation from their POV/perspective and it it differs from your realityand is less than perfect (cos suprise, suprise the world isn't) you (Teagar) seem to climb on your high horse and endevour to belittle the poster.
Perhaps my generalisation was a bit sweeping, but in my reality thats how things are.
