Thats the place, there's a bus stop just after opposite the wine sellers. What time you looking to go out?live long, eat biscuit0 -
i'm from hyde and have 2 weeks off work. does anyone ride around this neck of the woods. past couple of days ive been going from hyde up to hattersley to stockport and back. i'm new to road biking (been moutain biking for years and am reasonable fit) and could do with somebody to push me along and to get a few pointers off.

Work nights. Doubt i'll actually be able to get out much now.
It's in Pott Shrigley, if anyone knows it, and I get out at 6am, so if anyone's about at that time i'm going to do a few hills before heading home every day now. With a rucksack to increase the suffering of course. 8)0 -

It was indeed, and just as I was eating my chips at the end, it started hailing!
Thanks to Dave for coming out this morning, that was a good 50 today. Tired now, but happy to have done the milage today.
Probably wont be out next monday as I'll just have gotten back from Scotland the night before, and then I'm doing the Jodrell Bank sportive on the 14th March.live long, eat biscuit0 -

I'm not going out for a Monday ride at least for the next two weeks due to other commitments. Probably going to be near the end of the month before I get out again. However, myself, dave and Richard are doing the jodrell bank sportive on the 14th match if anyone else is interested in joining us?live long, eat biscuit0

on monday i am possibly looking at going out over woodhead and heading back through snake pass.
depending on weather and at least on other person coming along. (not being a big girls blouse, dont fancy going it alone).
on google earth its 64 miles and there's lots of climbing. what goes up must come down.specialized stumpjumper.

Did you do this ride Dave? Something I'm working up to and hope to be able to do by mid summer at least, in a decent time. Lots of climbing and I presume you'll be going across Strines Road? Nasty climbs all the way along there
Managed to get out yesterday and did a short 25 miles. My legs were like bricks though, after spending the last week sat in the car touring the Scottish Highlands. What a gorgeous place though. Saw some wonderful sights, and were very lucky with the weather.

went out for a spin, didn't do the full route. out as far as the round about where the A628 and the A616 meet then turned back the way i came. was a killer slog. about two and a hours for 36 mile.i have figured out the speed wobble problem i was having.
had a look a them pics of scotland, beautiful place. (would have been far to tempted to take a mountain bike if i was you, fort william is legendary).specialized stumpjumper.

Glad you've sorted your wobble, what was it?
Hilly rides can be a slog, but worth it for stamina and endurance training. Fort William was ace, but my bike would of been useless there as most of the mtb trails were still under snow.
Just got my mtb back from a fork service, and been out along the canal with the dog, she's knackered nowlive long, eat biscuit0 -
i broke my thumb in two places a while back, its forcing me to stretch out for the brake lever. im over compensating with the left causing the wobble. just needed to fit those litle spacers you get when you buy the bike.
am going to llandegla mtb'ing on thurs, meeting one of the lads from work for a few hrs. if you fancy a trip down let me knowspecialized stumpjumper.
