I know I sound like a salesman for them but Sportspursuit have some good bargains (again). RH+ clothing like bib shorts from £37, tights from £48, plus jackets, gillets and softshells for reasonable money. All at lots off. High 5 protein shakes at 1/2 price. Fancy a DEDACCIAI ASSOLUTO FRAMESET, carbon and 1/2 price at £672 too. Finally, Diadora shoes too

Hopefully that's of use to one of you!

Planet-x are doing a special on their new range of current and vintage caps. Normally £12 then down to £5 then use the code UKCAP20 and get another £1 off.

Given you're posting referral links, you're acting as a salesman for yourself as well :|

Extra 10 % off at wiggle on clothes

Normally wouldn't be worth mentioning but combined with the sale prices there are some silly bargains to be had.

Just picked up some Castelli Bibs for £56.00. There's some nice kit still left but I can't afford to spend any more :(

For those way up North, outdoor shops at Gretna Gateway selling some nice quality shirts and jerseys from as low as £12 each, definately going to be back there for some of that. Mountain Warehouse and Berghous in particular having the best stuff.

2 road tubes for £3 at Decathlon. Now that is cheap!
  • Slane have about 40% off a range of Scott Addicts (awesome bikes) and decent deals on built-up R3/S2 Cervelos.

http://www.slanecycles.com/scott-addict ... -6248.html for example - £2k for a full SRAM Red build - and other options with Dura Ace/Ultegra or Campag too.

Yeah, still a bargain though 8)
  • Cheapest tubes ive come across in my googling - http://www.totalinnertubes.com/inner-tu ... -1-95.html £2.99! Just ordered a couple as backups.
  • Quite happy with one of these for £15. Yes - I know it won't be very breathable but fine for commuting or to just chuck on for 20 minutes on a longer ride.

Not bike related but I've just taken advantage of VirginMobile's generousity with a new contract of 2500 mins and what they call unlimited data which is limited to 2049Gb   for £23/month with insurance thrown in as I'm a VirginMedia slave too.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I don't really understand why people renew contracts these days. I'm with GiffGaff now. £10 gets me 250 mins unlimited data & unlimited texts. I never use anywhere near 250 mins a month and there's no contract. Equally 3 offer a rolling contract, £12.90 buys you 200 mins, 5000 texts and unlimited internet.

Cant wait for the day when there's WiFi everywhere and we're no longer beholden to these dinosaur mobile providers.

They'll just charge for that instead....in fact they already do. Vodafone, for example, do contracts that come with 750mb of wifi, any more than that and you have to pay. Obviously that's onyl when using their/partner's hotspots rather than your home network.

That's why you pick unlimited. I was with 3 for 3 years, never charged for data (and I'm a heavy user) - except for last week when they messed up and tried to charge me £40, got refunded and moved to GiffGaff. Incidentally 3 don't even have a fair usage policy, so it really is unlimited.

I'm on three, on a 1GB data contract, which was the most they offered at the time. I was told that there was no point waiting for unlimited because they had a 1GB 'fair use policy' on those too.....

My contract ends in Jan and I'll probably buy a phone outright and go for the giffgaff or three sim only option. It won't take much more than a year for me to make the money back, vs the typical contracat prices.

Never believe what they say in store/on the phone:

    http://www.store-3.co.uk/3-unlimited-data-one-plan.html

It's usually cheaper to buy the phone and then go for a sim only deal. I've been doing that for the last 2 years and have spent less overall.

Spookily enough, I've just had an email from Giffgaff wherein they're
" looking to change the MB allowance that is included within the £10 goodybag from unlimited to 750MB."

Switchers may want to hold off until the decision is made; discussion on their website until the 20th September. Given that I use almost 2GB a month, I may have to move again.

Yes but with Giff Gaff you don't get a shiny new phone into the deal. I looked at Giff Gaff vs Orange a few months back. I wanted a new phone as well. To get the Samsung Galaxy S2 with Giff Gaff would have ended up costing me about £25 odd per month worked out over 2 years (assuming GG doesn't raise its prices in that time), whereas with Orange I pay £20 per month and get the phone free... Admittedly I only get 750MB of data and 200 mins of calls but I'm not a particularly heavy user anyway....

  • Fine if you're not fussed about the phone. I wouldn't want to be stuck with an S2 for 2 years, it's already been superseded by the S3. I'm a serial upgraded I'm afraid!

Yeah, I did some sums yesterday based on the S3 and the HTC One S & X and after around 16-18 months the 'buy the phone then get a cheap sim' idea breaks even against a 'free phone' on a contract. After that you're saving money, or you can sell the phone and upgrade.

Yup, SIM only and phone outright works if you can afford the outlay at first. Got my 4S that was and thinking of moving to a Lumia once released. Thinking Apple have gone off the boil.
