10% off kit at Wiggle with voucher code 10KIT
I used it last night to buy a replacement Kask Mojito (insurance £ has been cleared). I saved 12% because I'm a platinum/British cycling customer and then put the code in to get another 10% off the original price, so saved over £20.0 -

Your link shows that the red one is still £64.99, so it seems like you haven't lost out.

Can anyone find me a bargain on a 51cm race frame, a Kask C50 helmet, a left Force shifter and a front Zipp 404 clincher? Oh and if anyone has any experience with getting money out of councils due to accidents caused by potholes (or rather meteor craters, given the size of it) please let me know."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Oh dear. Ignorning bike damage how is Pilot? That sounds nasty!!! Have you taken a picture of the said crater? I know with damaging wheels councils usually cough up. I would get a picture of it very quickly.0 -

Wow, sounds like a nasty one.
I ruined a wheel on Queens Ride a while ago. Pretty simple process although takes ages for the claim to come through. They also took off 10% off the replacement cost due to the original wheel being in used condition. Didn't bother me on my £50 front wheel but on a Zipp you might want to emphasize the fact that they are very new!.
Edit: Take pictures of the pot hole & the damage!0 -

Put something in the picture for scale - ideally a ruler, but something like a biro would do.0 -

Put a really accurate model car inside/next to it. They may pay attention then

Rider was me. Am okay thanks, face and skin on limbs is somewhat messed up albeit not as badly as the bike. Few cracked bones in the face but nothing serious enough to need surgery, just rest and care. We have a photo of said crater with ambulance behind, it was about 6 inches deep. From looks of the bike, the wheel got stuck in it and the head tube has ripped off the front before smashing to the right hand side of the bike. Unfortunately its around an hour or so's drive from the house so not too easy to pop back for a photo with something next to it but I think you can tell the size of the pothole from the photoWinter bike - Verenti Kilmeston

Sounds nasty, Kate. Glad you seem to be bearing up.
I'd recommend getting legal advice - if you're a BC member call their incident hotline (if you've not already done so).
Check "Fill that hole" http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ to see if the road defect had been reported previously. Find out the council or borough who are responsible for the maintenance of the road and request, via FOI, their inspection regimen over the last couple of years.
If the road is residential and Keyser fancies a ride down there, he could knock on a few doors in the vicinity to try and ascertain how long the pothole had been in situ. Furthermore, photographs of the pothole with a ruler for scale would be good. That said, if you've already reported it, they might have repaired it by now.
Good luck and heal up fast.0 -
Eeek. Bad news Kate. Hope you heal up.
As ever, see if the pothole has been reported. Even if you're not considering legal action then write down damage and pain experienced.
Where was the pothole, anyway? Can you get a friend to take a picture with something for scale?Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0
