Tredz have some pretty decent spend and save codes today if you're considering a big purchase.

A third consecutive night of waking up around 0400 really isn't helping me decide what to do... If I buy the Direto, then that my single "big bike spend" for ~6 months.
Or I can spend up to ~£600 max on bits like a power meter; wheel upgrade; thermal cycling gear; skin suit (the £34 Carnac at PX comes to mind); some "nice" summer tyres that are better than my Grand Sport Race; some 2-bolt clipless shoes lighter than my SHM121Gs; new saddle or two; carbon post for Voodoo etc.

I guess the crux of the issue is ~£625 is a lot to spend on the Direto, when riding outdoors helps me neutralise SAD symptoms, but getting the enthusiasm to ride outdoors is far harder now than it was in the summer (even when I don't have a head cold).
Plus my old basic Elite trainer didn't get much use at all before selling it on for peanuts, but then again the riding I've done this year is far more fitness orientated than I've ever done, I've never before come close to the ~4200 miles and ~252000 feet I've done this year to date.

Thanks for that. Beeing humming and hahhing over a Quarq D Zero power meter. In the sale anyway with the discount code made it a real bargain. about £650 for dual sided crank based power meter.

I got my Direto from Halfords at full price - BC discount (£675). Reckon they'll refund difference? Alternatively I can reorder and take higher priced one back for refund I suppose. Fifty quid's fifty quid!

Only thing I will mention re the Eurosport sign up, is that it does say it will automatically re-enroll you after 12 months.

But you 'should' be able to cancel, but I think it is something stupid (I think I know why) like only 48 hours before this.

There was a bug at the time when mine expired though, and this option was not available, so I had to battle for a refund and to get the account cancelled - I had my bank block the transaction as well, and I was not alone with this issue.

I just signed up for this and cancelled it immediately. It expires 24/11/18 and won't automatically renew. £2 for all the major cycling events is totally worth it!

EDIT: Super neat - thankyou so much, just done that now!

Checked my other ES Player account, and they have changed the small print, as that was just a one off payment and mentions no subscription, simply says when it will expire.
