  • If you're returning a Rapha sale product you may do better ebaying it and making at least your money back.

Is Athleteshop.co.uk considered a safe place to buy from in here? Looking through their tyre prices currently, which look pretty decent.
I think so. I bought a Polar V800 from there a couple of years ago without issue. I think they're dutch-based, so prices might change dependent on the exchange rate.

At near 600 pages, i wonder if this thread saved money for the community, or, indeed, encouraged extra spending?

Funny you should mention that. An hour ago I sent the link to a colleague who's just starting cycling warning him to open with care (citing the £900 bike I bought last night I didn't need but it was a "bargain"....).

Very much so - super fast delivery, tracked as well - very much recommended.

As an aside, and if this suits better, I gather Evans will price match them, but only if you ring them up, it's not listed as an official price match competitor.
My workplace gives me an additional 10% discount through Evans too, so works out as a better option.

This was just what I needed, having wrecked my Mojito when I fell off on ice earlier this week, sadly size L is OOS.
Any other good deals on lids?

Likely to cost more than the Foray. Way more.

  • The issue is that they do it on RRP so I think, when I did it for my Vertigo I still paid nigh on £90 or so.

If it's 50% I'd still opt for the Kask.

They're £34.95 on eBay at present from gearchangers.

Lots of colours and sizes. I'm keen on a high viz yellow one.

I swore at that as well. Although I don't want the blue, any would be better than my battered one.

Looked into the crash replacement, but as btr says it's worked out on rip which is £110 and you have to pay postage and post your old helmet back. Alpine trek (formerly bergfreunde) still have them for £65 inc postage, so have ordered a new one from them - means I have a spare set of pads as well.
I thought if i could get the Foray for £26 I'd buy it and use it for bad weather days.

I see that Eurosport are still doing a year of Eurosport Player for just under £20:
    http://uk.eurosportplayer.com/

Expires on the 31st apparently - I imagine the current contretemps with Sky will be sorted sooner or later, still might be worth having in reserve (or switching over if you are currently spending a fortune on a sports package and only watch the cycling...)

Also a great deal if you want to keep out of the Rupert Murdoch ecosystem irrespective of the Sky wranglings.

ordered one to see. Other sizes are available in certain stores - depends if you get lucky with your local as they wont move them from one store to another.

Ah, hadn't though to check in store prices.
I've got a set of the 500 warm bibs for the same price, which feel too tight over the shoulders, so I've done the same to see if the loss of the bibs is worth a better fit.
Would be interested in your feedback as all I normally wear is lidl/aldi shorts...

I just bought an Ultegra group set from CRC for about £460 using my BC discount. Shame I never saw this but it was insurance money anyway

Why would you spend over £300 on a possible scam?

Selle San Marco Aspide Super Leggera handmade saddle, literally the best money can buy.

I paid £300 for the one on my S5, just bought the black one of this for £150!

Last one left and in white.

My current one weighs 105.6g and is the comfiest saddle I've ever had (hence why I snapped up the other one)...

Could have been tempted by a black one.
