Thanks! Hope the size II leg warmers come up small; size I went out of stock between selecting it and putting it in the basket, although could be a good incentive to beef up the legs over winter.Location: ciderspace0 -
I was checkimng out the prices in the Ribble sale. Whilst some of the prices are reasonably good, the claimed percentage reductions are shocking with many of the "Before" prices being well in excess of RRP. This is such a "cheap" trick though I've noticed Currys and the like doing it too. When I see it, it just erodes my trust in the seller.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

What a bloody shambles that site is! Errors all over the place. I put two items in my basket - by the time I got to checking out, one had disappeared. By the time I got to the credit card number entry, the other item disappeared. WTF!ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

That's not errors dude, it's the fact they are selling out so fast - I 'lost' a pair of socks inbetween adding and paying for them.
Wanted a pair of black mitts, but was unsure as to the size - all gone now.
If you check what is available now, it's clearly been hit hard by bargain hunters.

So is that like walking up to the checkout at Tesco and someone grabbing something out of your basket & buying it in front of you? Surely there's some better control than that once it's in your "basket"? Never happened to me ever before.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Well I agree it's not ideal, however for me it is far better than some websites where you add items to your basket, pay for them, get a confirmation, and then several days later you receive an e-mail to tell you they do not actually have the stock, because you were unlucky, or the offer was over subscribed, that p1sses me off a whole lot more!
I guess they think that if they locked stuff to your basket, you could stay logged in for ages, and in that time no one else would be able to buy - but having said that, they could put a timeout on the transaction process I guess, ala ticketmaster, which would solve the issue - guess this is an unusual situation though.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

No it's like walking up to a homebase desk with a card for a powerdrill (to collect) behind counter and the guy go really sorry, that person there took the last one. If it's selling out fast - you have to buy it to take it home.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

Well actually it's like your example and you are just typing in the PIN on the machine to be told it's sold to someone else. Sure, if it's just sat in my basket, there's a risk (though I still think sites that give you say an hour to check it out are the best) but I'd checked it out and was just typing in my credit card details - that's just poor website design.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Or just annoyingly efficient? It's the way I'd setup an online shop anyway - it's not sold till it's paid for...FCN 2 to 80 -

Nope - just bloody annoying. In basket, then check out, have to register, address, phone #, email etc, then get to entering credit card details and - paff! No message no nothing just an empty basket. Product still shown on site but now refuses to go in basket when you click on "Buy Now". All the hallmarks of a cheap nasty e-commerce system....
Do you think I'll be going back there (or to your mythical shop) to buy something in future? Fork no.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Just been into the local one- now 40% off everything, but can't combine offers. Unsurprisingly, only Helly Hansen kit were a few oddments in dire colours for gentlemen of pie-smuggling proportions. The Peter Storm ones crackled with static (merino blend) as I checked for fit. Since they also felt thin and cheap, they were left on the shelf despite being only £18; rather have the planet X ones for a couple of pounds more.Location: ciderspace0 -

Actually you can combine offers in the store i went to (BOGOHP + 40% off = cheaper than BOGOF)...but the sizing and quality is all off, ~ like I need a small top for chest fit, but the arms are really short...meh...0 -

TK Maxx sells TrekMates Classic Gloves for £14. Not proper cycling gloves (rather silky, poor grip on bare bar ends), but made with genuine Windstopper fabric. Got a pair last week, very light and comfy. Rode to work this morning in about 3 Celsius - they kept my hands nicely warm.0
