Post-accident-and-surgery recovery and training

Hi all, I had an accident in mid-December that led me to have a 4-hour op to pin my cheekbones and eye orbit together. A nice bicoronal flap needed and all - well done the NHS and Maxillofacial dept at New Cross in Wolverhampton, terrific work.
I get my 45-or-so stitches out tomorrow - I hope - and of course have managed to get down to 10st2lb in the process (I'm only 5ft9). Now, what's the path from here on? I can't do real cycling for a few weeks in case of more spills so how to keep my fitness up and weight off?
Any good tips?
Thanks!

OK, cheers, but specifically what? I'm just about to buy a new bike and so can't spend big money on a turbo trainer too...0

My rehab was a little more complicated as it was my leg, so I just literally got on and spun the pedals for a couple of minutes the first few times...0
