If you want any hands with photo shoots or any of that stuff, let me know. I'm a "friend" of Hurtwood and happy to help out. One SLR and a few lenses plus flash at hand.

So anyway, looking like Saturday some of us are up for Wales. Suggesting Afan, probably Whites. Might therefore be up for a Sunday ride locally.
  • Cooldad...Swinley sounds good on the 15th. We'll arrange times sooner rather than later, that way "her who must be obeyed" can't bitch and whine about me going out for more than an hour.

DK....I was going to PM you anyway to see if you wanted to get involved. Are you a Canon man or a "darksider" who still believes Nikon are better? I just bought a Canon 40D BTW.
Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy :-)
  • Greetings all,

Whos about this weekend, DK as much as I need to do another trip to Wales not sure this weekends the time.

Should hopefully be about sat and sun so if anyone's about give me a shout. Weather hopefully reasonable so may even take the horse for a ride.

Andy, if you need more numbers give me a shout, always keen to explore and have a play although the mrs is the one into photography.

Hope to catch up with some of you soon.
    Cheers

I dabble in the darkside :D. Just got my old trusty D70 but may be getting another body.

Seems Saturday is on for Wales. Will, Nick, Nav and myself so far. Further on the FB group.

Sunday if I'm not too shattered and have a working bike, I'll be up for Surrey Hills, or Swinley. Whichever really.
  • What time are we meeting on Sunday?

11 is good. See you tomorrow.
  • If someone who is coming to Surrey Hills tomorrow has a chainring bolt tool would they mind bringing it so I can tighten up the bolts on my bash ring please?

    Thanks.

Possible change of plan, I'm in a bit of pain and suffering a bit, and a full on SH ride might be a bit much. Any problem with changing it to Swinley? Still 11. That way if I have to bail Damon etc can still carry on.

I'm fine with Swinley. Aches brewing after Afan and not up for much of an epic given the long drive.

There's a nice tabletop near the end, looks like a fun little trail. The Stumpy is still running lovely by the way, I've made a few upgrades to my set up since you last saw it though... There's always something new to buy!

Are you about Sunday for some Surrey Hills action?

Very first bit is Holmbury and funny enough did that today, first time in ages whilst exploring a whole bunch of stuff we've generally ignored on Holmbury. We've usually resorted to just doing Telegraph and the fireroad climb back but there's some nice stuff about that we used to do ages ago, just that most need a climb back to get to the next nice bit. Need to work out a loop really.

The one at 7:12 is Pitch. One of the T-trails, or at least I think that's what they call them. Done them loads and never sure what's which T trail. The left descent near the end (after the tabletop) with the steep roll onto the fire road seems to have been blocked off now but they go further on and left here which I've only done once I think. Should do that more often.

Load of people about there, don't know if it was all the same lot, but may have been just tonnes out. Swinley was seriously heaving last week also.

The big gap at the end too :). Can't be the investment banker then.

Saturday and Sunday I'm about. There's talk on FB of South Downs! Not sure about that. All big flat XC stuff isn't it?

I'd arranged to show Andy around Swinley on Sunday, so presuming he's still ok, that's where I'll be.

From FB I think Popstar is up for SH Sunday, if I can understand him right. Supra maybe (does he frequent this thread any more?).

    Preference for SH myself.
  • Getting confused between 2 conversations (here and FB) so I'll just post here about Sunday...! If there's a SH ride going I'm up for it.

Thinking about a Saturday ride doing Caesar's Camp way with MTBB folk. Longer XCish kind of ride. Half killed me last time I did one, though claim is it's a social ride this time.

Starting over by Southwood between Farnborough and Fleet. Easy train access for those who struggle with cars.

As I say, I'm "thinking" about it. Not certain yet.
