So so torn this weekend... Working Sat for sure so Sunday is my only option but I'd love to sit down with a big breakfast and cup of tea and watch the Indian Grand Prix Sunday morning and chill the funk out all day...
Just been watching Danny Hart runs from this year's World Cup on youtube though and would also love to go for a ride...0 -
I'm probably OK for Sat afternoon, not sure about Sunday yet.I don't do smileys.

About as always. The same as usual, or maybe somewhere different.
Wouldn't mind doing a trip somewhere further away. Not this weekend probably, but some time November perhaps. Cannock, Bedgebury, another Welsh trip, plus need to return to Aston and would like to check out stuff around Forest of Dean.0 -
Should be different this weekend. Mud and sludge.I don't do smileys.

Aston in the wet... "fun". Someone take a camera please.
I'm prob going to ride on the road Sunday to clear the lungs out but will be riding until we leave from then. As an aside, we're discussing end of year London Calling drinks before I go. Supra suggested the 4th.0 -

Cool. Can I meet you guys at a station and ride up? Else I will try to bumble my way over.0
-
I'm hopefully gonna be able to get out for a ride Sat afternoon - when are you guys going to kick-off?0
-
What time on Saturday (swinley?) might be able to make the morning till 3pm0
-
I'm easy on Saturday - can make any time from late morning or early afternoon.
You guys work out what time you can make it and I'll fit in - fairly sure DK will as well.
@Curious Yellow I don't go anywhere near the station but if you get off at Martins Heron it's straight down the road. Don't get off in central Bracknell.I don't do smileys.

Go Ape by the gate?
I'm running mud x up front and block 8s on the back - pretty much the same all summer/autumn ..0 -
Just outside the gate yes.
Got Maxxis Ignitors on, but back is more of a slick. Fine in the dry but...I don't do smileys.

Swinley it is for today then.
Sunday... Surrey Hills just for a change? Apparently it's busy there today. Guess Swinley today may be similarly busy whilst the weather is still good.
Although wouldn't mind getting out round Tunnel Hill again. Still need to work out a good route.
Note the clock change tonight, so getting dark before 5pm.0 -
Like I said earlier, with a VERY early airport run and probably dropping a bike off to someone, I'll probably do a 3-4 lap Richmond Park ride to try to get some strength back into my legs/lungs.
DK - you up for weekday rides? Quite fancy Swinley and SH during this week0 -
Good ride today at Swinley, bits of moisture about but interesting to compete with damp roots again.
Concern when we left - got accosted by a young lady doing a survey - looks like they are planning on charging for parking. Assuming that as all the questions were about parking, including 'how much would you be prepared to pay'.
Write to you MP now.I don't do smileys.

This was covered on STW recently. As I said there, don't mind paying for parking in some respects but the fee should also be used for the money they usually get from the permits. Both just seems silly. Course, it's not for me to mind too much anyway, I won't be riding there much for a while.0
-
I ride up so doesn't worry me, unless it extends to SH at some point, but as I said in the survey - not the way to encourage people out for a healthy day in the woods rather than sit on the couch watching cr4p and drinking beer.I don't do smileys.

Suggested amounts of "how much would you be prepared to pay" all were in the per hour category!
Stuff that. A one off day rate around the price Welsh trail centres charge (a couple of quid), perhaps if it absolutely is no option but to charge, but hourly charges they can shove.
Prefer they fund it out of the permit, with no increase in the charge amount. If they weren't so worried about liability they'd get far more from the permit as most of the cost is liability insurance.
Just charge more for the burgers to the fatties taking their kids for a walk.
If they charge, I'll just park at the bottom end and come in from there.
Anyway - Yes, could be up for a ride or two in the week. Depends if I'm busy building the hard tail. Could even get that out if I've managed to finish it in time.0 -
How about the I have a permit to ride so why would I want to pay to park answer? Even if they charge, crowthorne woods has numerous free car parks not associated with the crown estate. No biggie although stupid for the reasons mentioned.A Flock of Birds
