So, this thread is only for people 6'4" and over who cycle to work.

What bike do you ride?

Do you have full length shorts, and if so where did you get them?

Have you found any size 14 spds?

Where do you get your socks from?

    Count me in, I'm 6'4"!

    Riding a 21" Specialized Rockhopper.

Usually wear 3/4 length baggies have just ordered some dhb full length jobbies so will let you know how I get on with those.

Only size 12 feet so using Shimano MT41s and Sealskinz waterproof socks.

And being this tall is useful for seeing over car roofs!
    Rules are for fools.

Ta v much, I got some gore tex jobbies over the intenet a while back that purportedly would fit my legs according to the measurements on the site...

They went on ebay about five minutes after they arrived, slightly stretched.

Currently I'm use some XXL M&S long johns. Long pants basically.

I'm on a 64cm GT, thinking about buying a 63cm one of these at the moment:

    6'6.5" myself.

Only Size 13. I find shoes no problem

Full length shorts? You mean bib tights? Gore do excellent kit for tall people. Santini is not bad either.

Got some Shimano SPD-SL in size 49
and some Specialized for the SPD cleats in Size 48

I ride the two bikes below - please note that the Sabbath has changed spec in the last few weeks :)

Why does your bike look normal, whereas NapDs bike looks like a gate, even though you are 5 inches taller?

I've noticed that - I think its to do with the fact that my bike is compact geometry and it shows. If I wanted to get a CAAD 9 or his Look I would be aiming at a 63cm frame I reckon.

There can't be much oxygen up there, why do you think I ride a low flying lounger?

You sure there's much oxygen down there along with the tailpipes?
  • I'm 6'3" and take size 13 shoes.

I am grateful to people like you for making me feel normal, even briefly!

    6'4"

I ride 61 cm framed Dawes Audax as workhorse, XL sized Focus Cayo for best.

Spesh SPD shoes (size 43 in euro speak, 9 UK so not big).

Full length tights from Castelli (gregario I think is the name). Bib shorts all from Rapha.
  • You lot are so elitist! I wouldn't join you even if I wasn't only 6' 2 1/2".
  • 6' 4" - I'm in the club! I ride a 1993 Raleigh Activator to work! 23" frame but looks smaller.
Recently acquired dhb merston waist tights - the length is fine and just the right thickness to keep warm but not too hot. Recommended but I think I'll buy bib tights next time though to make sure the pad stays in the right place - it seems to shift around more when wearing tights as opposed to shorts - movement of the knees I guess.

  • I'm in! The growth spurts have finally stopped and I seem to have settled around 6'5ish.

XL DHB bib tights fit me fine (32 inch waist with 36 inch inside leg). I find shorts more of a problem as they sit too far up the thigh and look a bit like hot pants. Never had any complaints in the vauxhall tavern mind.

Shoes not a problem as I'm only size 11.

Riding a 62cm Trek on road or a 20inch Kona off.

The biggest problem for me is that my seatposts are always over extended.

I cycle a Raleigh Pioneer Metro LX with a 23" frame.
I have a normal pair of cycle shorts with no plans for getting anything longer as yet.
maybe when the cold really comes that will change.

Ah, yes I've got one of those too, in limbo at the moment as the spokes keep coming unscrewed.

  • 6' 4" here.

    59cm Pinnacle Expede cross bike.

Size 46 Specialized mtb shoes - easy enough to find.

Haven't had much luck with long tights, but Santini leg warmers with shorts does the trick.

"What do you use for gloves?"

"I tie a pair of dustbin lids together!"

    "No, not mittens, gloves!"

"Oh. I tie some refuse sacks to my dustbin lids!"

am just waiting for mine to be fixed after my recent crash.

    Dammit.

    6ft 3 & 1/2" :x
  • 6'4", 36" inside leg for trousers, and 2" extra-long sleeves on formal shirts. And 80kg weight. (you get the (lanky) picture)

1993 20" stumpjumper w. 400mm seatpin (cheapo one - anyone want to buy a 27.0 dia. 330mm length XTR seatpin?) and 150mm control tech stem (old skool ..)

Shimano '94 vintage MT110 size 45's I think they are (shoes that is) - 3 velcro straps - still going strong. Fit my flat+narrow feet well with the addition of some cut-up bits of insole under the tongues..

Love my cannondale carbonLE bibshorts (in medium I think - like I said, I'm a skinny lanky bggr)

Gore windstopper jacket has great (rare) long enough arms without massive body
Gore legwarmers in small (!) stretch fine for below the shorts - I guess skinny legs = lengthwise stretch capacity.

Have never had any joy with over-the-knee (3/4-length) shorts.

  • 6' 5". I'm in and very exited about it.

I ride a Boardman Hybrid, not problems with it size wise.
Shoes a petite 11 so usually have no problems.
No problem with gloves and other kit, just get large.
