And? Giggs sounds like a Manc,

Michael Owen was born in Chester, but lived in Wales all his life, he's Welsh not English. I have a friend who was born in Saudi Arabia and another friend in Hong Kong, one of them is English and the other Welsh.

It's where you grew up rather than where you are born in my opinion.

Surely it's how you self-identify? Especially in this country, where it says "British" not "English" or "Welsh" on your passport.

If Giggs was born in Wales, lived in Wales until he was 6, has Welsh parents, and played football for Wales, and considers himself Welsh, then that makes him Welsh.

(Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things.)

While this is true, both Giggs's parents are Welsh (His dad played rugby union for Cardiff and league for Wales) and his grandparents all still live in Cardiff. He's more Sierra Leonean than English.
