I spent a fair amount of time yesterday scratching my head and wondering whether Pinilele or Quiderche were places.... But I couldn't bear to admit defeat and ask for a clue

We know that the answer is to do with bikes for a start. Badgers live in setts (should be 2 ts though), chain is suggested by ''connected''. chain + set
