From the past I would like

    Playaway - Brian Cant Legend
    Jamie and the Magic Torch
    Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy
    Starfleet
    Terrahawks

    And more recently
Life - Damian Lewis is class in it, and the plot is not too mental, odd showing times meant I missed episodes plus it wasn't widely publicised on ITV3.
    +++++++++++++++++++++
we are the proud, the few, Descendents.

Panama - finally putting a nail in the economic theory of the trickle down effect.

How about Blake's Seven but with actors and special effects?

That's being brought back for Sky One. Could be good, like Doctor Who, but probably won't be (it's Sky One).

See also: Survivors. Classic 70s drama, weak as hell remake.

Jamie and the magic torch - Lunch times were the best

    followed by

Torchy, Torchy the battery boy. 1960's puppet show.
    Mr Onion Head, as above.
Jiffy the broomstick man and Twizzle. Ditto.

God, I've just been transported back to my Gran's house, mid 60's.

I remember the hexed Prince was a bear...and the dwarf...and the huge fish.

Tell the kid's today and they won't believe you. I'm not surprised, actually.

Got it on video and, I can assure you, it is every bit as creepy as it was back then. My kids took one look at it and accused us of being weird!!

Oh and who can forget Bod. With barley mo and the frog who had an animal orchestra which had to decide what flavour milkshake he wanted.

I used to find finger mouse a bit weird. You just wouldn't get away with that on kids telly nowadays lol.

British Bulldog? Pretty much the same as kabaddi, only with less breath-holding and more wanton violence.

And yeah, kabaddi was on Channel 4 on Sunday mornings.

    Spaced.

Although I'm always aware that one more series of either could be a disaster and taint the memory of a flawless original...

Indeed - often 'quit whilst you're ahead' is the key to a good sitcom. I was reading a newspaper interview with Dylan Moran the other week, and this is precisely why he knocked the superb Black Books on the head after 3 series (got the whole lot on DVD at home, not a dud episode in there).

Resurrections of cult drama series from days gone by - I was reading earlier today that a Canadian TV company is planning a remake of The Saint with Dougray Scott in the Simon Templar role, there have been rumblings of a Sweeney revival featuring Ray Winstone for ages now, and at some point in the future the highly suspect US re-working of The Prisoner is, unfortunately, likely to be on one of the ITV channels. If ever there was a show that didn't need re-making, that's the one....

The Harry Hill Show. "Back of the net!".

A new series of that? Chance'd be a fine thing. Promises, promises.....and relax.
See, the way I remember it is: Harry Hill re-make, Cadbury's Flake. You've got to have a system, haven't you?
Trouble is, I liked his Channel 4 show, and I also like TV Burp. But which is better? There's only one way to find out!

I'd like to see Swiss Toni's spin-off sitcom again at some point. Not necessarily new episodes, even a re-run on BBC Three would suffice.
G.O.L.D. viewers might have noticed that Vic Reeves Big Night Out is also doing the rounds in repeat form; if Vic & Bob can keep Shooting Stars going, why not a revival of Big Night Out too? I think there's still plenty of mileage in the under-rated masterpiece of a comic creation that is Graham Lister, amongst other skits. They shouldn't have let it lie!

    Absolutely!!

and while they're at it - how about making Eddie Izzard's "Cows" sit-com into a series - there was only ever a pilot and I thought it was great!!

Any of the Saturday morning Kids TV from the 80's - early 90's, they don't make them like that any more.

    Of course.
  • They ought to do a re-make of 'til death us do part with the Alf Garnett character being played by Nick Griffin.

I think "the prisoner" was great, and an updated version of that could well be made.
