  • The Hold Steady are the best band I've ever seen, the whole night is always just a big, joyful party.

Rocket From The Crypt were amazing too.

The Damned at Barrowlands (great band, great venue) 8)

The Stranglers at Alpexpo in France (right down the front, mayhem)

U2 at the Caird Hall in Dundee 1983 (Bono walked around the balcony with a soundman crawling along behind him looking sh1t scared)

    BUT

I have never forgiven myself for my stupidity in 1979, when a mate offered me a ticket to see Led Zeppelin at Knebworth. "Nah, can't be bothered." was the WRONG answer!

    Fast and Bulbous
    Peregrinations
    Eddingtons: 80 (Metric); 60 (Imperial)

  • Went to see Scouting for Girls in Cardiff last year. Yeah, I know! Was there with someone else, not my choice. Have to say I thought they were really good. It's the crowd interaction that makes a gig.

Worst gig ever was REM. Kept the crowd waiting so long they started their own entertainment, building human towers. It was so engrossing nobody noticed that REM had actually graced us with their prescence and were going to play. Pretentious tw@ts.

Weller's obviously a favourite, hence the avatar. Town Called Malice live always brings the goosebumps out.

    Bit uncalled for?

Perhaps you shouldn't be so condescending.

Telling someone to get out in the world is pretty poor manners.

It was meant lightheartedly. I think KevinMcC got that! Shame you didn't.

I thought this a thread about who the best you've seen is, not a list of allthe bands you've seen.

I'd be here all day listing all sorts of sh1te!

John Cale is awesome live, seen him 3 times.
Divokej Bill - an excellent Czech band
    Nine Below Zero
Bellatrix - lovely view up the singer's skirt
    Julian Cope - legend
Stranglers - band did well, but the audience (Paris) was about as lively as a fossil
Konflikt - Slovakia's top harcore punk band for teenagers. Terrible music, great fun.
    Polysics
    Ray Davies

The only band I still really need to see is Tankcsapda

If you are actually sorry then you'll stop with the unnecessary personal and rude remarks. You've already done it twice. Don't do it again.

Anyway, shame it's only guitars 'cos I have a reasonable DJ list...

Thats a good list! I've seen Mogwai 4/5 times too and they're always fantastic. I think i'm getting a little old for them though as last time I went, my ears were ringing for 36 hours afterwards.

We were in the car on teh way home yellilng at each other "GREAT SHOW!" "EH?"

The best two I've seen were Half man Half Biscuit (Trip to Trumpton anyone?) and The Prodigy (Charlie Says era). Ash were very good, Edwin Star was brilliant too (War - huh!) and seeing George Melly was pretty special.

Stone Sour was at festival...it's not my fault I promise!!!

Placebo was actually the first gig I ever went to! 1997 I think. It was indeed epic.

Not going to list everything but my top 5......

In at number 5 up three and holding steady Metallica
Number 4 Charlatans at V fest.
Number 3 Foo Fighters not sure which was better, last year at Wembley or many moons ago at V fest.
Number 2 Guns and Roses at Wembley especially as FnM were supporting.
Number 1 is definitely Fath no More at the Marquee Club some time in the late 80's.

Dullest gig is a tie between Athlete and Faithless.
Short hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

    Felt F55 - 2007
    Specialized Singlecross - 2008
    Marin Rift Zone - 1998
Peugeot Tourmalet - 1983 - taken more hits than Mohammed Ali
