Wiggins hints at Team Sky switch

The only thing i can think is that he's talking about his personal ability, and not the team he's signed to - eg he's comparing himself to Wigan, rather than Garmin, and that he personally needs to be performing at a Man U level in order to compete with, say Contador (Who is what, Real Madrid?)
If that's the case, it's a frankly clumsy metaphor, and a really dumb move considering all the 'will he, won't he' rumours flying around. Anyone with half an ounce of sense - or even a smidgen of media training - would know the likely outcome. And i don't think he's that stupid...
on a side note, doesn't BW look a whole lot like steptoe in that screengrab the beeb are pimping all over their sports pages?point your handlebars towards the heavens and sweat like you're in hell0 -

"I've had a good time at Garmin this year but times have changed".
Read into that what you like.
Seems Contador might end up with Vaughters, especially if Sky stump up the cash to help the chain of contracts happen.0 -

Bit confusing.
Editing?
Deffo not edited. He clearly says it (at 4mins 20 secs)."Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult"0 -
The comment just made the news on Radio 1... lol0

Well, it has been said, hasn't it."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Didn't a quasi national team with an enormous budget and a PT licence compete this season?
What were they called - Something with a "Kat" in the name. I find it hard to remember as they did nothing I can think of all season....
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
frenchfighter wrote:I don't like Wiggins' character. Why is he now bitching about his team. He has the best or joint best TTT team, guys that can ride on the front and guys that can help him the mountains.
Me neither. One can hardly say Sky are a 'Manchester United' of cycling. Maybe more a Notts County? :P
Well, seeing that a Sky move is looking likely, that's 4 teams in 4 years.0 -
Yeah, i think he has been very harsh on Garmin with his comment today, but also feel there must be more to it. Gotta be something going on behind the scenes...0

replace Notts County with Man City0 -
Replace Notts County with Man City? Yeah, but the thing is that would make Sky good (can you tell I'm a City supporter?!).
This cycling/football analogy is b%llox anyway if you ask me....."Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult"0 -

Sol Campbell and the Notts County fiasco come to mind...0 -

OK... having watched the video interview, that's pretty incontrovertible. He's off somewhere, fer sure.point your handlebars towards the heavens and sweat like you're in hell0 -
I want to like BW but... he keeps coming over as a bit of a graceless twerp far too often. The autobiography read like an extended article from Loaded, he slags one magazine off while congratulating another, slags his current team off, criticises Larsson as unworthy of bronze...Nobody wants another anodyne rider refusing to say anything other than platitudes but maybe he should put his brain in the big ring before opening his mouth.0

No doubting he's a TOP rider,& it's good to have a Brit to cheer on in the big events, but he does seem to go off on one if things aren't going his way (seem to remember he went AWOL after getting second place in the Giro TT,when the weather changed dramatically,& he would surely have won).
He does seem to have a bit of the adictive personality trait going on,goes on months long benders when not getting the recognition he (rightly) deserves.Seem to recall when the media were focusing on his mod image,he was calling them perverts (whats that all about?)
much as I rate him, I'd be a bit concerned with his character if I was investing Millions on a team, but then again, they do say no publicity is bad publicity,& he DOES give plenty of soundbites!so many cols,so little time!0 -

Agree, bad move for both I reckon.0 -
I can't take to Wiggin's or Cavendish.
Got to be careful, because the media control our perception of them by what they release but from what I've seen from both they can be very arrogant.
Both extremely talented and British though, so I'll continue to support them 8)0 -
I still think it is all down to Contador. If he leave Astana and goes to Garmin then BW will go to Sky.
So until we hear what Contador is doing it is all speculation.
It's a bit like the Alonso and Ferrari will he, won't he saga in F1.0 -

It's all up in the air at the moment, I can't comment.0

Definitely. In fact if they have signed him, I'd expect him to be the leader for the Vuelta (12th,12th,11th in the last three editions while supporting someone else)Twitter: @RichN950 -
Latest from Brad;Wigan are a good side and certain people have taken it out of context!
I could have used Ronaldo leaving ManU for Real, Rooney leaving Everton for ManU, Could have used a cow and a pig, horse and a pony???
And in other news he seems to be concerned about:Dont hog the the middle lane- Pick up your dogs shit!
Might buy a JCB, it'd be like a giant Pooper Scooper!
Imagine if all humans did Mr Wippys on the pavement, it'd be like ancient Rome!
Suggestion, aim said dogs arse into the gutter= its not like walking through a mine field of shit!
People of where I live in Lancashire, Please,Please,Please dont leave your dog's shit outside my sons school!Contador is the Greatest0 -
Fook me that last post of Wiggo's is interesting

YAWNNNNN no it does nothing of the sort, who really cares about that.
Now to the post about him saying people took it out of context, as much as I like wiggo I think this is complete rubbish. I think he said what he did with the intention everyone took it and then needed to backtrack.
Brad knows more than anyone that wigan aren't at the same level as man u and saying it is no way comparible to rooney switching (and many would say everton to man u is a step up given man u are a top 4 side in champs league every year) or ronaldo. He can't say that and not be pulled up for it because he knows he dropped a bit of a clanger and looks worse for trying to brush it off in my opinion0
