I would get your claim in quick he might not be here long!

If the liable party dies after the event occured, are the insurance company still liable for the payout as the (now dead) liable party would have been covered by the insurance at the time of said event??

A word of advice here. Before I worked in IT I used to be a injury claim handler for a large insurer so don't lay it on too thick. If they think you are, then they will send the case out to a fraud unit who will go through everything with a fine tooth comb anything slightly dodgy and they will chuck the whole claim out. (No not Supers Zaskar ;) )

Having had the medical reports from the consultant who dealt with the hospital part and teh neuro specialist they make interesting reading (I understood 1 word in 5 of the medical type) . The comment from the specialst report (which is court admissable document) which I liked was that 'He came across honest and truthful to all questions'

    Yup, doesn't matter really.

I had an accident shortly after passing my driving test. A van pulled out of a t-junction on a 60 mph road, turned the same direction as I was going- all I could do was brake and slam into the rear.

He passed away a few months later, not due to the accident I may add! I informed my solicitor and he said that it wouldn't be a problem, and "Off the book- dead people can't argue..."

    ha ha ha :lol::lol::lol:

    you can just imagine

"what did you do to the replacement car we gave you"
"well, I took it round the red at Glentress"
    "what's the red at glentress?"
    "It's a montainbike track"
"why did you do that? It's a car!"
"but you gave it to me to replace a mountinbike"
"hrmph, OK, but where is it now?"
    "half way round"
    "what happened?"
"It ran out of fuel I think"
    "why didn't you refill it?"
"never had to refill my bike, why should I have to refill something that replaces it? Oh, and here's a ticket I got from the cops for you to pay"
    "what's this?"
"a ticket for driving without a license"

    cue exploding insurance dude

Seems you'll get a new bike. Do be sure to get fully physically checked out though, as borderboy points out, some injuries can take time to appear and the insurance company aren't likely to be interested in your sore back 5 years down the line.

Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer

If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day

Still got a headache and sore all over, just lucky I never broke my back or neck.

    Love the Bike/Car story.. LOL.

The car is only to get me to work and back until they pay for my bike.

Sols I have instructed seem quite nice and concearned and they do a lot of work for cyclists and police, so cheers to the Police officer who recomended them.

LBS sending quote on a like for like with full XT and Fox kit.

I have not seen a bike like it though.

    Fox F100RL / RP2
    Carbon ricthey bars

    The bike was sweet. RIP
