Cant say i have has the semen problem, but have had blood in my urine on and off for a couple of years. Had CT scans, Xrays and every other possible examination going. Having a camera shoved up the old fella soon, which is filling me with dread.
On a positive note, the doc said it may just be a weakness somewhere down below that is i
aggravated by cycling. Used to suffer from bladder stones and even passed one once:shock: which was hugely painful. Go to the docs again but don't assume the worst as it could be harmless.

  • Being a pragmatic sort, I tend to research symptoms then see GP.

Few years ago had 'concerns'. Saw GP. Blood/urine tests. Referred to consultant. More tests. Cameras up 'the old fella' as so quaintly referred to above - not the most pleasant of experiences but 'different'. DRE 'digital rectal examination' in case you were wondering. Ultrasound scans up where the sun don't shine. Biopsies - ouch. More biopsies - ouch and more. Laser surgery on prostate 2 years ago.

    DO NOT IGNORE IT.

The whole thing was a bit of a bugger, preventing me from fulfilling my targets. Next year was looking hopeful but now looking slightly less so as prostate symptoms have made a recurrence. Oh well, that's life. It's not going to keep me off the bike unless the interference with my bits makes it unavoidable.

    DO NOT IGNORE IT.

It seems to be a predominantly male thing, not discussing your nether regions wth your GP. Just do it. They've seen it all before, and more besides.

Better sort whatever the problem might be sooner than later. It might be nothing. Hopefully. But I would rather know, than ignore it and find out it is a real show stopper!

Also, mis-diagnosis is not uncommon on the initial exam so be diligent with your doctor.

You little sacs on your vas defrens (the pipes from your bollox to your prostate) which hold seminal fluid (the vehicle and food source for sperm). The vas defrens joins with your urethra just past your prostate. The prostate also adds to the fluid sperm is carried in.

Now you might have put pressure on one of these little fluid sacs (seminal vesicles) which could force out fluid that looks like (and lest be honest, smells like) semen. If you damaged the vesicle that might have resulted in some blood.

BUT I'd also strongly push to get a proper prostate exam. Just in case. prostate cancer in younger men tends to be of the more aggressive variety.

first off...well done for having the balls (no pun intended) to ask here, most blokes would just shrug it off and move on.
but it doesn't should right, as everyone else has said, its probably nothing but go get checked out by your GP.

Would definitely get things checked out with the GP.

Last year I suffered from a Urinary Tract Infection and certainly did pass blood in my urine and experienced pain in doing so... was referred to specialists for various tests including that which "noodleman" is awaiting... was eventually ordered off the bike for about 4 weeks... and prescribed antibiotics, which cleared it all up. Upon getting back on the bike, I fiddled about with the angle of the saddle, make sure that I have plenty to drink on long rides and <touch wood> haven't had a recurrence.

Even if it just turns out to be that, the tests you have will help to eliminate other possible problems...

I had the same problem a few years ago as the original poster. Nothing to do with cycling. Saw GP and he did give it a name, which for the life of me I cannot remember, but did say was not uncommon.

Due to family background had all the tests mentioned so far, including the camera up your old man, somewhat humiliating, but interesting to watch on the monitor. Every test I had was clear, and the condition has never re-occurred.

I am sure your GP will advise you well, and you will be fine.

Well guys i went to see the Doc, she had never heard of it before!!! Great! She had a feel of my little fella and said he was all ok down there but that she would contact a specialist and get back to me!!!

It does worry me though that she had never heard of this happening!! Just waiting to see what they say now!!!

When i got home, i told my good lady that she commented on what a good member he was!!! She agreed as well!!!

Just hope they send some thing to me soon.... I might have to go in for them to do some more tests... unless the specialist agrees with the Practise nurse... it does make sense what she said and it was only cos of you guys on here, over 2000 of you, not hearing of this happening that i went for a 2nd opinion!
  • Sounds like haematospermia (blood stained semen)

An alarming symptom but usually not indicative of a serious problem.

  • It wasn't just stained, it was more like i had cut the end of the old fella off!!!

Also I didnt ejaculate, it was the goo that the weeee fellas travel in.. I like my biking but not that much LOL

An ex B/F of mine once had an infection in a testicle which he first knew about because of blood in semen. It was just treated with antibiotics and the problem went away in about a week. Hope your problem is also a minor and easily treatable one, but it's good you're investigating, just in case.

Hope all goes well but if I were you I'd go to the urology department - I've heard of sex on the brain but going to neurology might be taking it a bit far

Never had this happen although I do quite often get a bit of "leakage" when I get out of the saddle and he also goes dumb after a while in the saddle.
