I should hope they stay true since once they are out even by a few mm I'd be sending them back for a complete overall. No way I'd want to risk running carbon tubes with un-even loading across them, which would be the case in a un-true wheel.
I'm sorry to anyone who bought them, but this is an example of using an unsuitable material for marketing/sales reasons, rather than being sensible and using a less exciting material but with good engineering.0 -
Wow, this is beginning to sound like one of the "Lance" forums. And all over a "wheel set". So many companies making wheels, so much competition for your dollar. Hopefully this will all turn into "better / faster wheels"(key words better / faster) as opposed to simply wheels with more "bling".0

Not really, since no matter how much you do or don't like Lance he isn't going to result in your face sliding along the floor at 40mph when he catastrophically fails.0

Sigh.
Personal abuse, if deemed serious enough and is reported = immediate ban.Jeff Jones

Yeah, it seems to have gotten out of hand. I kind of forgive GavinGilbert for flaring up, it happens to us all from time to time. I don't feel any personal abuse and don't think i have dished any out to Gavingilbert, after all it is only an opinion on wheels.
Silly now reading back.
Still, i would not ride R sys if you gave them to me for nothing.0 -
And dont I feel like the F8cking a55hole for starting it all!!
Might well go back to my LBS and tell him, "love the wheels, would by them but cant handle the ferocity of debate and opinion they seem to generate, so Ill pass thanks!"
So what should I get instead? Budget of £5 to £600. Are Fulcrum 0 worth the extra? I know this has all been discussed before but I am just trying to change the subject before some gets knifed!0 -
Don't feel bad benji90, happens on here all the time, its weird. I have had Mavic kysrium ES Sl for almost 3 years now, excellent wheels, light and strong and look nice too IMHO.
Happy shopping.0 -

You are in the Siena owners club now, we are special.
Given you are unable to construct a reasoned argument and you're hiding behind a silly username why should I give a flying toss what you think?
To be fair NapD is not really hiding behind a username. His name is his profile. And we all know he is a Sgt (soon-to-be-inspector) in Cheshire Constabulary. Hardly hiding. Whereas we only know your name might be Gavin Gilbert, no real evidence to suggest that's not a fake name.....

Those Eastons look good value too but personally I'd get some of the ones from Wheelsmith for 400 quid (1320g) on decent rims...
The thing with the Eastons is the customer back up will likely be better if a fault develops.0 -
Well I also have some Velocity aerohead rims/DT Comp/Record hubs on the way so it will be interesting to see how they fair against the Eastons.0
