Thanks be to God that your Daughter is OK(ish). I hope she makes a full recovery.

You deserve a bag of chips, What a Star.

This junction seems to be a consistantly dangerous - are a couple of signs enough ?

  • Very best wishes for your daughter's recovery. I am currently recovering after being badly injured in an accident back in May and my heart goes out to you and your daughter. The days and weeks ahead are bound to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions - focus on the positives and try to avoid the "what ifs".

I've seen those cement mixers tearing along southwark street over the past couple of weeks and have even dived out of the way of a couple. I remember thinking that the careless driving and speed would result in an accident at some point.
I hope the woman involved has a speedy recovery.

Eyevea, thank you so much for letting us know! And tell your daughter - when she's up to it of course - that she should start reading bikeradar too :)

Code Monkey is my hero...and my daughter's hero. I was on the phone with her this morning when I read his post. She is so greatful. He truly did save her life. I want to publicly thank you for what you did.

When bad things happen we don't always get to thank the people who helped. I'm so happy to have found BikeRadar and all the people who have been wishing my daugher a speedy recovery. I've told her about this and she's so grateful for your comments. I'll keep her posted as time goes on.

I'm hoping that my daughter will be able to thank Code Monkey herself when she's back online...In the meantime, please accept her thanks through me.

Agreed, those it's pretty hard to read with tears in your eyes. There but for the grace of God...

Eyevea very best wishes to your daughter, you and your family. Must have been a hell of a shock for all of you.

    Code Monkey - you star.

And how fantastic that the internet not only alerts us to news stories but gives us a follow up (the number of injured cyclists who later report back on here about their progress is very encouraging and touching) and regulalry unites victims with the people who stopped and helped.

    Stay safe people!
