I'd like to see Northampton Town win the premiership but since that is never going to happen I'll stick with not caring who wins it. I'd like to see Villa or Everton get into the top 4 just to annoy the Man City fans.

A ton of those rugby hits are totally illegal. Really bugs me when people mix up a load of dangerous tackles in with all the good ones like that.

Some nice ones in there though, especially Josh Lewsey nailing Mat Rogers.

As long as Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool get relegated I don't care.

    Hope Arsenal win, or Villa.

Spurs might struggle in lieu of their performance against Celtic boys club last week
  • Up the Villans.
Glad to be rid of that whinger Barry.

    Can we fix it?

He would only leave for a champions league side though. Glad we didn't get him, just hope Alonso stays.

    just hope Alonso stays

    +1

Although the only person I would be happy having as a replacement is Villa. Now that would be sweet. Can't see it happening though, and it would be even nicer if we could get Villa and keep Alonso......

    I'll wake up soon.

+1 here as well, I don't see us buying anyone else though. Either Rafa is so confident in the current squad and youngsters or there is just no cash for players as we are too busy paying off the loan.

    Another big red here.

Really hope Nando & Stevie G stay fit to give us big chance of No19

Fears - Chelsea get it together with new manager, Utd buy Aguero or Villa.

I'll leave my prediction till Sept 1st.

I just watched game last night v espanyol. To say we were awful is an understatement. If Lucas really is Xabi Alonso's replacement then god help us. His 1st touch is awful, he's lightweight, can't pass accurately, is slow and can't tackle. As for Kuyt, well yes he is a workhorse and doesn't stop running but he's no winger. Dither's on the ball, again another with no speed, can't go pass players, crosses are poor and is turning into another Luis Garcia with these little flicks and tricks that 9 times out of 10 give possession away. I'm also worried about our defence. Both Agger & Skrtel are injured and we only have Carragher and that young San Jose who is still way off the next level up (but is still a good player, needs more time). Again left back is a worry. Insua is a great player, but whose cover? Chocolate leg Aurelio and chocolate lover Dossena.
Any other LFC fans out there worrying or am I being just a bit too critical?
There are many other players who are not fit to wear the shirt in my opinion. I have defended Voronin in the past but now I'm beginning to see he's just not good enough. Then there is Degen, Ngog (good player but drifts in and out of games) is Babel finally going to show that promise?
I'm off to see the game next week and I'm worried it's going to be a looong trip back home.

I wonder what the odds are for burnley to go straight back down again? It's probably not worth having a bet, wouldn't get much money back when burnley get relegated at the end of the season.

No your not the only 1 who's worried, I think alot depends on whether or not we keep Alonso & who we get to replace him. Don't forget ushited have lost 2 players that scored 1/2 their goals last season, I just hope that little 5hit breaks his leg in the 1st game.
I'm in the KOP next saturday, so I'll enjoy the match whatever, as it's friendly it doesn't matter.

1892 - I'll see you there in the Kop. It's the wife's first game at Anfield and she's a massive Alonso fan so I'm expecting tears if he's not playing.

What's annoying me with this situation is that no-one from either party (Real Madrid excluded) whose coming out to say "I want to leave" or "I will not sell Alonso".

It seems to be different reports all the time. Isn't Alonso saying that he didn't know if the two clubs were talking but was glad they were whatever the outcome?

I agree about the ushited situation. Last year when a player or two was missing they had at least one person to replace him but this year doesn't seem the case. Unless they splurge on a big signing of course.

She's in for a surprise then, the TV is nothing like it. Hope she enjoys it. I was going to wear my Alonso shirt but we'll see what happens. Taking my niece,(she's been going for about 10yrs now) she's been brainwashed from birth, well that's what my sister says anyway.

To be honest, I don't know anything about him. Rafa doesn't make many mistakes in the transfer market & soon gets rid if he has.

I have seen him play well, a bit of support from the crowd & I think he could surprise a few people. He always seems to be thrown in @ the deep end.

He needs a good game doesn't he, just to prove the punters wrong. I do hope it happens I really do but just can't see it deep down.

What you've got remember he is still only 22, this could be his make or break season especially if Xabi goes
