Interesting finish. Hutarovich and Geslin are quick finishers and should work together. But Voeckler's always good value, Igantiev is bound to try something and Sapa's a bit of a hard man.

Staying away unless they start playing lots of games

Break is screwed now. Should have stayed together.

we'll get to see if mr Cavendish is interested in the green jersey now - ie will he sprint for minor points?

Looks like the break away riders will stay clear.

Headwind to the finish, if they play around the lead will melt.

What's wrong with the sprinters' teams? Still knackered from the TTT?

Cervelo had to go hard for Sastre, rabobank for Menchov/Gesink (and a few are back with Gesink). Boonen had a long chase too. Garmin had a hard day yesterday. Columbia may well be tired from the last few days.

    VOECKLER

SO pleased for him. A superb rider always entertaining. His first stage win as well.

Pure panache. He was the one that launched the break and then attacks for a solo win.

Probably the most popular victory of the Tour so far I'd guess too....

Great win for Voeckler. I'm no big fan of his camera-hugging in the mountain stages, but his attacks on the flats are admirable and this is a great award. I feel a bit sorry for Albert Timmer getting overtaken in the last 100 m; he deserved to get in second for his strong chase.

Cav third, so plenty of Green points, plus all important PTP ones too!

Cav was third so he will pick up a bunch of points.

Amazing how much time the bunch picked up in the last 5k, although I guess against one man and the others who had given up, maybe it isn't so crazy...

  • Kleber - cheers - french eurosport still at least a min behind!!

    PTP?

    Well done Voeckler :D

Cavendish wont be happy about not winning but his rivals in the green jersey did poorly. Hushovd took 10th while Freire finished in 9th. Farrar came one place behind Cav again.

A great ride by Voeckler today. He played it best after Ignatiev started the attacks, which you knew he would, and timed his move to perfection. Chapeau.

Third place gets Cav 26 points.

might as well be zero since everyone picked him

commissars neutralised the stage for PTP purposes

ignatiev went too early again ...nearly ruined it for everyone in the break.. again

Not quite... just the 51 out of 61 predictions, with 7 non-starters
