Looking for some inspiration for a good pumping playlist for a couple of hours on the bike. So what have you got on?

Dead Kennedys - Raw Hide / Holiday In Cambodia
Foo Fighters - Times Like These / All My Life etc etc
King of Leon - Four Kicks / Black Thumbnail etc etc

Is what I've got on the mp3 player, needs topping up. More later.
  • My name is from the Foo Fighters track - so they are on my standard playlist.

Just created a Prodigy/Nine Inch Nails/ Rage Against the Machine mix for tonight.

    Keep the tracks coming.....

I appear to have The Cult - Sanctuary, Violent Femmes - I Dig the Black Girls / Gone Daddy Gone. Also The Who - Baba O'Riley

The Who - Baba O'Riley << Inspirational song and is worth more than £50's worth of energy bars and drinks.

For me Keep The Car Running by the Arcade Fire is pretty much the ultimate cycling song... It's the musical equivalent of a steam train.

Go! Team works well too, Doing It Right is ideal...

Or Move Along by the All American Rejects

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSbGur1dz9k

Or Roll On by the Living End

For me, really heavy stuff doesn't usually do it, it just blows my rhythm completely, hurts my concentration and sometimes gets me a bit over-aggressive. I always look for something seriously up-beat and cheery, with a big driving beat, no dead spots in the song, so it'll carry me along and keep me up and pushing. Ideally it should have me singing along or banging my hand on the bars to the bear

If you want a blast from the past and summat different you won't be used to. Then I'd pick up two albums by The Ruts: The Crack & Grin and Bear It. You'll find them for a fiver each (if that) if you look around. Some of the best punk reggae fusion ever made and guaranteed to shift your ass on a bike. Examples...

Old stuff but new if you ain't heard it before 8) and youtube quality can't do it justice. But well worth checking out for the money.
