S*x and commuting by bike

I'm so bored, so terribly terribly bored.

OK here goes.

How does or can commuting every day by bike affect a persons sex life? I was reading that a poorly positioned saddle can lead to erectile disfunction in males. Reading the article I realised that the commitment to commuting by bike goes beyond this and has further reaching implications on a sex life.

Some people have to wake up earlier to go to work, energy levels may be less in the morning or when you get home from work. Sure you're arguably fitter but doesn't mean your as energetic. Whatever the change its arguably easy to accept that in some way commuting does affect a persons sex life.

So I ask, and in all seriousness, how does or can commuting by bike affect a person's sex life?

And a poll because polls are fun.

    Where's the poll?

Both me and the bloke cycle to work (me most days, he all days).

Bedroom antics are unaffected (and it's surely good for both of us if cycling makes my legs stronger...) :D

I always thought it was more important to make hips and the core (stomach) muscles stronger.....

Edit: Stamina too... in that way cycling has helped, I guess

I've been cycle commuting to various work places ever since I meet my now wife. Admittedly some of those places where only 2 miles away but even since I've started doing longer rides to get to work I haven't seen any problems......I've been with the wife just shy of 10 years now (boy do I feel old......) and the eldest of 5 kids is 8 so go figure if it affects anything............

We men and women possibly have different bits that need to be strong, depending... ;)

I think it's most likely coincidental that um, he and I have had a particularly good run of uh, 'sessions' lately, and I've been riding regularly since February. But you know, it could also be my getting fitter because of it...

Has having to get up early to cycle to various places, inflicted any time constraints.

I'll be honest, having to explain to my girlfriend that if it happens it has to happen at 6am not 7.30 - 8.00am am when I need to leave wasn't a conversation I enjoyed....

I was talking about women... from my ummm limited experience... I find stronger hips and stomach (doesn't have to be flat and a six pack) is more beneficial than strong legs...

Well my hips and core are already strong from my dancing, so I guess I've noticed no recent change there anyway....

Teeheehee, conversations like this amuse me :D

Wowch at early morning antics - I'd more likely roll over and tell him to bog off if he tried that one... Not a morning person, me...

I would not say that cycling has affected it, but rowing (both of us), triathlon training and cycling meant we would prefer some quality sleep than having to do the needful!! Hence Triathlon and rowing have taken a backseat for me - I can live without swimming and running, but can't live without some nookie.

Through my 20's I think I wore out my lifetime guarantee too - it is fair to say that I roosted in the henhouse and wallowed in the pigsty with abhorrent disregard....I was a cycle commuter then too.

Anyway, I have 2 kids from a previous relationship - so what do I know! And my mother is devout Irish Catholic...so what the hell is S+x anyway?! Do you mean Sox?!

and cycling only ever affected my sex life when I looked at me ex and thought I'd rather be riding my bike

to be honest my fitness has always been decent from being a pt but since i have started cycling a lot more i am much more happy, instead of just being tired after work

however things have prob got better, but its prob down to me knowing im fitter and feeling better about my body.

did actually dream about my new bike a few times
