It has. You've lost the beard & beer gut that your pic was showing towards the end of last week. A small but meaningful improvement.

Weekend miles posted - up one space 8)

Expect to pass ChrisinBicester about Thursday :D
Surely the world's hardest game of squash in lieu of 20 miles on the bike should count for something? <sneaks off to tweak db without it showing up on SCStats...>
    :)

Maybe - like the SCR points - we need exactly that. Hard game of squash = 20 miles. Walking the dog = 0.5. An hour's worth of football on the back lawn with the kids = 124 miles. etc.

Finishing the Will Self novel = 80 miles
laying in bed watching DVD = 50 miles

yeah I'm up for that :D

    in the meantime, however:

Fixed an issue last night on SC Stats that could potentially have caused a problem further on in the summer, and did a wider tidy-up whilst I was at it. Any issues arising can be reported in the usual way, either by triplicate request through the SC Stats Support Hepdesk, or by sticking a post on here with the keywords 'WTF'.

41 users and 73,628 miles - we're getting quite a clan of stat junkies 8)

And all but 40 of my 2,703 are actual commuting miles. Plus I think I'm just breaking even after the initial capital of buying a bike/kit instead of driving to work.

Missed clocking up 50 miles this week by 1.65miles but my body told me to go home and tell everybody it's failings  despite munching whilst out today :(
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I'm assuming (having not read 20 pages of posts) that its miles since 1/1/09? Would prefer if it was a rolling 12 months, just for the numbers, but admittedly it would be almost impossible to keep track! I'm sure any places moved up the table will be cancelled out by others joining it higher up, but here's hoping ris isn't on their bike today!

Edited to add: didn't realise I had to do some weird coding thing, having looked earlier, so this won't actually cut the mustard I'm sure. Will see if I can work out what I am supposed to do and try again...

Edited again to say now I have seen a link to an excel page that seems to be out of date compared with the above and I am losing the will! Can anyone recap how to put the figures in these days?

This has happened before. Not to worry - you're on the "barebones" page, so you're in the database so all miles are logged.

You'll have to wait until CiB gets his finger out and fixes the bug

That's an odd one. People have been happily adding themselves for a while now since that bug was resolved 3 weeks ago - we went from around 32 users to 41, now 42. Salsa - I'll have a look later to see why you weren't added properly. Check again tomorrow and all should be well.

Like the idea of a rolling 12 / 6 / 3 / n months total. Might have a look at that; we've got a lot of cumulative data that could be manipulated in more creative ways than it is at present.

there are 42 users, only 41 on the table, think I must be the missing 42nd as it did come up with a message saying I had been added in

It's a cycling forum not a database discussion but in short, you're in one table but not another and the query that joins the two is an inner join so you don't appear on the summary grid, which is where it's all driven from. Not a serious problem, not for me anyway. Have a look later tonight / tomorrow.

Can't remote into it from here otherwise it'd be done & dusted by now.

Fixed that. Tssk - a typo of all things.

Salsa, Hoppy & Fat Kid (?) all added themselves today. It's unusual to see two newbies arrive in a short space of time like that both on zero miles so welcome to the both of you, now get on with adding some miles :). If they were added as a bit of testing by someone let me know and I'll clear those two entries out.

Cheers CiB - what did I spell wrong?!

I don't mind people being on 0 miles (although technically they can't really be called cyclists), at least not until I surge up the leaderboard! Actually that's quite hard, because everyone else seems to be ever-surging too!

It's not you, it's me. Where have I heard that before...? :)

I did a bit of an overhaul last week to extend stats to the full year so that we can roll into next year if necessary, and to resolve a ticking time bomb that would have caused problems if we're still doing this in October, but missed a comma off on the new user code. Anyone who's done an SQL insert will be aware of the importance of commas - if you miss one off it doesn't work. That's what happened here.

45 users then. I reckon we might hit 50 soon at this rate.

Us males in postions 44 --> 48 are seriously going to get left behind by Sarajoy and the other burds in the 'competition' unless you do want the wooden spoon for the lowest mileage at the end of the year.

Sorry but no. It's a list of who's done most miles. I could add it I suppose, but not for a few days; I'll be washing my hair tonight and fancy some time observing our lawn growth and the decorating losing its moisture. Have a look next week.
