If you use TW10 6RN on streetview and pan around you will see the terrace. There are railings actually. Fair weather venue...
It is good for something - mostly looking at pubs! I did the same thing and therefore know exactly what you're on about
Cool, well, once this has been up a little while longer, maybe until the end of the week, I'll put a poll up with different dates - it will be a weekend day in July.0 -

Should we set a date first before a location so that everyone can get it in their diaries?
Assuming its going to be on a Saturday*.
Personally I can't do:
6th or 13th of June (need to confirm)
11th or 18th of July (need to confirm)
Ideally I can definitely do
20th June
27th June
4th July
25th July (though this is the day after a friends wedding and I will be groggy)
*Note: I can do any Sunday as I believe in keeping my Sunday's free.Count me in if I'm not cycling round Scotland - maybe DDD could bring his M2 and we could have a faceoff.
Tis, very tempting... I will if my brother lets me have it back, he's very precious about it.Food Chain number = 4

the view from the roebuck is one of the few "protected views" over petersham medows. another pub is the lass o'richmound hill on queen street though the roebuck is nicer if only for the view, and nightingale lane which is one of the few steep roads in london.0 -

OK, no more discussing dates in this thread, as I said I will do a poll come the end of this week for weekend days in July, I think June will be too soon.
I doubt there'll be one day that everyone can do, but majority rules.0 -

Dunwich Dynamo takes place on the 4th July so perhaps a meet up followed by a ride to the coast for the keen could be in order!Short hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

well yes its 'only' a 120 mile round trip. i've been toying with a run to brighton and back in a bit. as if i want to do the full hog on the tour of the black mountains i'd lik my first centry to be some what flatter!0

Unfortunately I couldn't make that , I have to drop my car up at Dunwich on the Saturday ready for the drive home on Sunday. There's still one place left if anyone needs a lift back to the big smoke.pain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

It's tempting, but unfortunately circumstances dictate I've got to get back for my youngest, plus I've already cajoled a colleague into doing it on the promise of a lift back to the Richmond area  Would have been well up for it otherwise.pain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

There's a cheesy sports bar on Haymarket near Trafalgar Square/ Piccadilly Circus that usually shows the Tour. The venue is a bit cheesy but it's a great atmosphere with big screens and many like-minded individuals. I have very fond memories of being part of a group cheer for Hincapie's solo mountain-top win few years ago.0 -

Sounds like you have prepared your excuses but never mind if you don't feel you can do it then it is best not opt out earlyShort hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

If you want excuses I've not even started yet I'll have to see if I can rustle up a willing volunteer to drive my car up there, just so I can give you lot the scalping you deservepain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

Not sure about doing some mental long distance bike ride after necking a skin full of Guinness, I would however be more than happy to throw down another attempt at the 3-lap challenge followed by a tour of the Richmond pubs culminating in MASSHOOF snak snak attak washed down with lashing & lashing of ginger beer.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

That's more like it, leave the Dunwich Dynamo for another day, so reputations can be tested/broken/destroyed

How about a perfect Martini (3 to 1 gin and vermouth) and a cuban cigar?! Am I an alcoholic...?0

Very nice of you to organise a get together near home, LiT :-)
Roebuck comes highly recommended, its a freehouse and often has random beers on tap (It has some green beer on recently, with no artificial colours  )
Lots of space to lock bikes on the railings and excellent view over the river.0 -
