Rich, are you up for a CCC tommorow then? Or just surrey hills?

edit: should have borrowed my wheels, can't believe you went and bought some

I'm not mentally prepared for CCC so just Surrey Hills, but regardless of what everyone else does I'm going long so if people start heading home and I've not done enough I'll do some more :D

Gday Lads and Lasses, just flown back from my Aussie jaunt managed to get in some awesome riding done and was reminded very quickly (as in second day into trip) that unlike Surrey Hills 80k in Australian Heat = more than 2 water bottles.

Got a few pics which I'll load into FB and link when I get a chance.

As I sit here typing rain is beginning to fall - hope you chaps stay dry today.

I could be out tomorrow for a very quickfire run through Surrey Hills to Box Hill, but will be dependant on Jet Lag as return leg usually hits me hard.

Otherwise am keen as mustard next week for a long and gruelling ride come hail rain or shine.

The issue is that Wilf is away and I don't want to jump the gun in his absence, but if we can at least be ready to 'press the button' and get them ordered once we have a design agreed then we're one step ahead.

Rich, was monitoring emails with bated breath on outcome of this whilst away, but didn't see any references. I'll take this off the forum and send an email to get an update on where we're at.

Bugger! I didn't want to do much about it as I didn't think you'd be checking emails!

Oh well, we'll chat offline, but I think we're nearly good to go anyway 8)

Good ride today - 120k for me at just short of 26kph. It really hurt though - nearly 2 weeks off the bike plus being ill has really taken it out of me!

Nervous about the Fred now, but still some time to get some miles in and wake the legs up between now and then anyway...

Rich, just come back with almost exactly the same stats, a couple km short of 120 but just over 26kph. Nice seeing you out on the road, we always bump into each other

Sorry I didn't make it out for 9am, I'm a lazy b*stard teen who needs to get off his arse.

Hopefully see you tommorow on the wheelers run!

Chris, I've been talking about doing joining the wheelers now for a while but not before doing a KW run first. Tomoz could be the perfect day so might see you there perhaps with Rich aswell.

I promise I'll wear something low key (well something low key relative to my wardrobe that is )

I like the desiciveness!! Bank holiday weekend, i'll need to check that we're not doing anything, then I'll show my hand.

Had a good ride today despite a false start. Fire alarm shut Victoria station so after waiting at Clapham Junction fro 1.5hrs i jumped on the first train that headed for the coast luckily it was bound for Brighton. So a bit of south downs way, then downs link saw me hit the surrey hills in the afternoon. I needed a few hills so went over Leith on my way to Box H.

This is were the plot thickens... I hit the base of Box Hill with 90kms in the legs (80kms of which were offroad), and thought I might as well time myself up the offroad section. Okay, so it is more direct as its straight up with no 'zig zags', but it was the same start and the same finish. I clocked a time only 51 seconds slower than my road time. Hmmm, think i might have to try it again offroad and really go for it.

Was half expecting to see a few familiar faces up top but it wasn't to be so headed for home by mysels  still got 130kms into the legs today which i'm happy with.

Now were is that bottle opener?

Emu - good to have you back.
It's the vibe of the thing.

I went for a Kingston Wheelers run today and ended up doing around 100 miles. Weather and the quite lanes down the bottom of Surrey and Sussex were awesome.

Was slow and steady but just what I needed as woke up this morning with a horrible combination of jet lag and hung over. Took me until about 11am for me to regain my faculties.

Naz, if your reading this thread at all thanks again for the ride.

Didn't see you this morning Wilf, there were a tonne of riders at the start though which made people hard to spot. Sorry for not looking around  I went out on the slightly faster ride for an early finish.

Hope you enjoyed it though, and will be back for more :D

I'll be sticking to the chaingangs - much more interesting, and FASTER! :D
