Ha Napoleon I got so used to seeing your Avatar I was expecting to see Mr Dynamite next to the bike.
Looks like a sunny weekend (checking already)Stumpjumper FSR Comp

Heh heh, Napoleon (after Napoleon Dynamite) was my nickname when I was on the Tactical Aid Unit because of my bespectacled face and my 'geeky' interests. It was quite a macho environment that I added a little 'je ne sais quoi' to.
Hope it is nice as I'm camping with the family for the first time on Saturday night.0 -

Last week I did a few turns then sat in and got dropped on the climb back up Pexhill. Last night I decided to keep doing turns until I blew. I knew it was going to be hard, not least because there were less of us last night.
Ohhh did I blow! Didn't make it to the last climb with the group, but overall worked much harder so pleased with progress...
Funny weather last night as it had been sunny and dry all day in Holmes Chapel yet there had been maffise storms but 12 miles away in Macclesfield so it started off rather greasy.
Pokerface came along too which was nice!
Nappy - if you hadn't mentioned you were 'going slow' - I wouldn't have noticed. You took your turns on the front like a champ (and I should know 'cause I was right behind you for many of them!).
For my money it's the perfect chaingang - not too fast or too slow. Got a great workout without being shattered.
Next time I'll ride all the way back with you as I suck massively on the hills myself.0 -
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Passed part 2 of my Inspectors exam!
GET IN!!!!!!0 -
Congrats on the exam
BTW, hope you're not trying to blog anonymously here...0 -
Cheers mate!
Nope...

Did just over a couple of hours on Sat with Dan (Spanielsson) thought I'd do it without anything other than energy drink (although I took some gels just incase) and managed ok. Pushed hard on the last couple of miles and was shaking like a sh1tting dog! Zero energy left. Job done.
The big thing for me though occured halfway through the ride, we were approaching the bottom of Swiss Hill and I thought F it, lets have it!.
Got halfway up ok, slow but steady then a woman came down the hill in her Fiesta. We would have had enough room had she kept over but no, it's her road and I had to stop and move over to the side Carried on afterwards and made it though. Well chuffed!0 -
We had Swiss hill nailed until then! Saturday was top, I think I/weshould ride that particular circuit at least once a week.0

All good fun, bit better today though!
Did the chaingang on Monday, definite improvements are occuring...0 -

"I'm back"?!!! I don't think you ever went away!!!! One thing is for sure, you can count me in hombre!!!!!!
And who knows, if I get the new job I may even take August off, time for some real miles to be clocked.0 -
Roadbikeless at the moment
Litespeed hasn't arrived and Look is in for investigation for a bloody annoying noise (think it might just be the BB though.
Going out for a recovery ride on the Time Trial bike. Could be interesting when I get overtaken by Mrs Webster on her 1984 Raleigh Denim.0 -
Well, another day another shock!
Just did another club 10. Last time a couple of weeks ago was 27.29, tonight was 26.12
The leg....
IT LIVES!0 -
Went for a quick bimble this morning before MrsNapoleonD went to work. I looked across the Cheshire Plain and saw Mow Cop winking at me and I though 'Ave iiiiiiiiit!'
So I did!
This is probably the biggest step forward I've made in the last 6 weeks due to the amount of power I have to put down whilst stood up to get up the steepest bit, I'm very pleased as it means I am getting closer to being able to do shorter, more intense (sprint) intervals and it will also help enormously on the chain gang when accelerating out of the junctions/corners/up hills...0 -

150 miles this week, culminated in a brilliant ride tonight with Dan (Spanielsson) and another friend. Felt like a 'No Chain Day!' Great fun with some climbing thrown in. 35 miles at just under 16mph average with some fun off roading thrown in for good measure.
It's coming on!
I am aiming to do the route I crashed on sometime in late August, it's about 60 odd miles miles and is pretty much all the climbs from the Cheshire Cat. Any takers?
any thoughts about a ride ? cheers , tim . ps , might head out to the cat + fiddle on wednesday if anyone wants to join me .0 -
yeah come on Nap, my knee is sorted now0
-
how about sunday 6 sept ? gives a few weeks to sort it and hopefully summer will have arrived by then.0
-
How about Sunday 13th Sept? (Can't do 6th due to work)...
Will hopefully get rid of two bogeys (13th and that descent.)0 -
I found this thread because I have time on my hands. I have time o my hands because I am working from home. I am working from home because I had an off yesterday and earned myself a small fracture in my pelvis.
So, if belatedly, I care!
I had no idea you'd had this injury. Sounds like your recovery is going well. Kill those bogeys!0 -

Doh! Sorry to hear that mate. How'd that happen?0 -
Car turned left into me. Should have seen it but was distracted by another car also turning left. One of those things. I am singularly impressed with the performance of my helmet, may it rest in peace! Bike damage minimal, which is something.
Let us know how your ride goes!0 -
sorry , off to scotland on the 12 sept for a week . will have to miss it . bu**er.0
