I worked on the bsasis that these Reba's were new ones which are really quite light SDK2007 when I did the whole weight diagnosis, wonder what SPEEDKINGS ones are then?

I got reba race ones james, and when i said the whole thing about some bits not adding up right i meant you was abit out on certain items but you did round them up so thts prob why? I gotta get this thing weighed individually and then i would know but judging on the basis you gave it is 23lbs

Yeah, it seems SpeedKings weight 'estimates' are about 3-4lbs light.

Your were about right on the weight of the 07 Reba Race forks : 3.55lbs

Either V12 Mags or MUCH better value, lighter and made by the same company, Wellgo MG1s.

Assume it's a colour thing (can't see your pics for some reason)?!

Get the V12s - heard many bad reports on the 50 50s.

Have had both V12 Mags and 50:50s

The DMR seemed a lot sturdier, although you may be OK with the CBs for XC duties, they are not very good for extreme usage to be honest.

Shame you can't get gold V12s (I think you used to be able to)

Assume they are the lighter magnesium versions? Maybe with ti axles too?!

Mine now has XT SPDs fitted - that's 20ish grams off my Wellgo MG1s (magnesium alloy)...

Lighter tubes on the way and fitting lighter tyres too... :D

Am planning on some Ti spindles for my mg1s when am back on the bike :)

May also invest in some more carbon too - got some time to save up!

Webby - what a pain (about the injury).

Think I've done enough weight saving for this month - bike really is feeling light now. But not as light as yours (unless it's a huge frame!)!

Hi guys got some bad news im afraid!!!!

MY lovely pride and joy was stolen from the shed in my new house that we moved into last week, fully locked to itself (so it couldnt be wheeled out) I found out yesterday morning at 8.00am. AM TOTALLY GUTTED !!
As you who have followed my blog on my bike will be aware that i have spent a lot of time and money on making this bike a really spankngly nice one off machine. Although it seems that some C**T thinks it is their god given right to take my time and money and gleefully enjoy it for free. Bloody Tossers! ( pardon my french!!)

SO anyway guys when ( and if ) my insurance comes through i shall be searching for a new ride not sure if i am gonna sick to MTBing or go back to my first passion of road biking either way would be great to keep in touch with some of you so if yo uwanna forward me email addies or just chat on here about stuff, which i will still be doing from time to time that would be great!

For now though i am inconsoulable and freely wanting to kill the shite bag who stole my pride and joy yesterday..

    See ya.

Speed_King mate I know your pain, same thing happend to me just over a week ago.

Went to the shed in the morning to get the bike so I could get to work and twas not where I left it. Public transport is no fun :(

Pikey scum obviously can't be bothered to get a job and earn decent money like the majority of folks.

Hope the insurance company comes through for you, I am currently trying to sort out all the info the company wants from me and am joining the dark side, need lighter bike for the commute.

The result of all this is the next bike will be connected to a Claymore mine, if they want to take my bike, my bike is going to take them with it.

Speed King - sorry to hear about the bike but I don't think it justifies that racist statement.

Be they white chavs, asians, whatever - they (who nick bikes) are all low life scum and it's hateful to have stuff pinched but racism isn't going to help.

What if it wasn't Asians? It could be anyone from any ethnic group.

Sympathy will evaporate if you make racist assumptions.
