Is 2PM at the gateway ok?

Here is the route we will do (first one), it does not have swiss hill on the route but it's ok, tis easy to get back on route. Some others aswel.

www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=5229 (Used for wheelers intro ride, not a bad course)

Depending on how I feel tomoz might do a shorter one.

Maybe one day we can try this one too:

I havent done it yet as I'm unsure on the roads.

:? Err... yes it does! :?

Yes, 2pm is good. I'll be loading up on flapjacks during UNI I think!

That other one looks good too. It's supposed to be nice in Shaw, never been that far up north to check it out though.

If I am slightly late tomoz, dont worry, it's cause I've been in the bike shop buying gels.

Yes, that'll probably end up as 100m because the way those maps are calculated is always inaccurate by about a mile per 50 miles. Looks good!

As for tomorrow, I too will be wanting to take it easy but there are a few short climbs i'm very familliar with so i'll be racing you up em!:wink:

Was a good ride that, if it where not for the traffic lights I am pretty sure we would have done like 20mph average, abit too fast, certainly wont want to do a 100 tomoz :p, maybe 50-70 hilly.

I'll put up a route for tomoz soon.

    Yes, indeed!

Can't believe I got dropped on swiss hill! It was nothing to do with fitness, more about who could dodge the most cobbles without falling off!

    Got some photos:

No, of course not, I use Krylions 8)

That big puddle, I was wheeling my bike through it for abit and got my wheels caked in crap and the mudguards got stuff on.

Nah, he was just obsessive about cleaning his wheels after taking about half an hour to walk round an insanely deep muddly puddle, which had sharp unstable stones at the bottom of it...!

We averaged about 0.2mph on that stretch of road.

He just asked me if WD40 was a good choice for rim cleaning...

    Oh dear!

Lighter fluid or isopropyl alcohol works amazing on rims!

It evaporates quickly so you can do it inside on your expensive carpet or whatever.

Both available in large amounts from your local newsagents usually.

No mention of maltloaf? Great stuff on long rides as you can just keep ripping bits off, even better buy the ready sliced pack.

I normallly carry maltloaf, a couple of small bread roll sandwiches (ham& cheese - to break from the sugar) and a couple of bananas. Caffeine gels just in case.
