RPCC Ride - Sat 28th / Sun 29th March

blimey, that Surrey Massacre looks the business. I may go recce that this Sunday if Sat night is civilised. I dont have a GPS so it will be out with the maps if anyone may be keen to join. 2700m worth of climbing will be good prep for some of the sportive's, esp Lakeland Loop and Fred. Looking at the calender, there are 6 weekends left to ride before Fred <GULP>..... perhaps Sat night will have to be civilised0
-
Change of plan for me on Sun now Fuji - otherwise I would have been up for that. Am also doing the Lakeland Loop and the Fred so would be ideal training! :shock:0
-
I think I'll be using Saturday as a training ride for Myk-ee's Surrey Massacre event - we might need someone to man the broomwagon for that one!! :P0

You're dreaming.
I think on 'Surrey Massacre' day I'll follow you all in a car and scrape people off the floor.
cc10 - I'll be out, so even if it's not a sedate pace I'll peel off at the back with you as I don't go that fast yet. Although I reckon last week they were just showing off ;-)0 -

Awesome, so many more quotes to come out of that movie.
Wilf - don't be shy now!!It's the vibe of the thing.0 -
Slightly annoying change of plans for me now in that I'm likely to join you for the first half of the ride and then continue heading south - I have to be in Sussex for a family thing on Sunday (that I'd forgotten about) so I'm going to ride down on Sat and ride back on Sun.
It's tempting to do it all on the Sun, but I don't like the idea of having to sit in lycra with my family for a couple of hours, or of having to ride back to London after a roast dinner...!0 -
what the hells going on ???
everyones dropping out like flies !!!!!!!!! I hope your not running scared of me
8th March 2010,Spain ,Here I come !!!!!!0 -
I might be up for this - what time do you start? I need to be back in Balham for Saturday lunchtime as I've got some friends coming over, but if its an early start that still leaves time for a decent ride. Need to get a time down for the Boxhill challenge, although I expect it to be pretty lame!0

Would be great to see another new face, and apologies in advance if I do decide to disappear south at around the halfway point! But please do come along, even if you need to make your own early departure 8)urrrrrrrrrs wrote:what the hells going on ???

Besides, I might change my plans again and do the whole thing there and back on Sun yet - I'm still undecided... :?0 -

Rich: And while you're on Aussie movies, I'd also recommend Crackerjack...! But don't take any liberties with the wheel of cheese.0

I'm sorry Rich, I feel like this thread has been hijacked ;-)
So who's on for Saturday? Rich, you're probably there for the way out, Urrrs, MattHammond, homercles, cc10.....have I missed anyone? As long as someone knows the way back, I'm in :-)0 -

I think Myk-ee & The Emu are still undecided but possibles, and Ryan (RC21) is still yet to post (although I seem to recall he can't make it this week anyway?). Fuji Mackers also registered interest.
Urrrrrs should be good to lead you all back to RP (assuming you're cool with that Gezza?!).
I'd probably plan to lead you out towards Shere and then head up Hound House Road onto Pitch Hill (you can turn left off of this to head down into Peaslake as we did last weekend), from which point I will head down into Ewhurst and carry on south from there.
I am still possibly considering doing Sussex and back in one hit on Sunday (with a stop to say hello to the family and have some food) so there's a very slim possibility I'll be there for the whole thing on Sat... unlikely though! :shock:0 -
Cool - what sort of distances would we be looking at there..?0
-
At a guess, I'd say 55-65ish, depending on your route around and back once I've peeled off and left you to it - nothing too taxing but decent enough to qualify as a bloody good spin! 8)0

Oh that's perfect!! I could do with a non-killer spin this weekend especially since it's meant to be p*ssing it down with rain...0 -
