Or am I confused? I saw a picture in the paper.

I regularly watch House, CSI (Vegas and NY - Miami if bored), top gear, heston (when he's on), and that's about it.
Only seen SCC once so it may have changed but no the friendly 'borg is Summer Glau (from Firefly/Serenity)

Why the fcuk did they cancel Firefly - that was an inspired show. Stupid, short sighted, culturally bankrupt Fox.
Twas indeed. Cancelled, then a movie was made. Weird... Fan outcry didn't work to get the show back, either.

Really? Horatio has somewhat limited acting skills:

    1. Look to the middle distance stage left
    2. Look to the middle distance stage right.
    3. Look down.
    4. Take sunglasses off
    5. Put sunglasses on.

Did I miss any of this "talents"?

    Miami is utterly ridiculous.

    7. Look over sunglasses
    8. Do all of the above, but in extreme close-up.

For those of you who have unrestricted internet and speakers, I heartily suggest you google 'weebl and bob CSI Pie-ami' and watch the resultant video.

    +1. The guy's incredible.

Mind you, I doubt I'd actually genuinely rush home - sky+ is a great invention!

EDIT: You all watch a lot of telly!

    new series soon isn't there...??

I cook some of his stuff at home occasionally...

LIT you went to the fat duck as well didn't you? tasting menu I assume? what win did you go for?

    Ooooooh is there? Excellent!

You do his whole recipes? I take bits from the book and mix them in with other things - haven't bothered with a whole one yet but I bet they're amazing if you do!

Yeah, I had the tasting menu - I don't really recall which wine - the bloke I was there with dealt with that! It was fantastic. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Actually maybe I'll book now for my birthday next year...

oh hell no not the whole shebang

the way he cooks veg is good and I've had perfect roast chicken a couple of times... also taken a few hints on roast potatoes

the booking is tricky it's only 2 months ahead and it's hard to get through before the whole place is booked out.

When you go get the wine to match the tasting menu.. it's awesome and takes all the thought out of what to have...

Oooooh I found it! This is from an article about iconic/memorable faces and who has them from the beeb
Between NYPD Blue and CSI Miami, something happened to David Caruso which his admirers call a movie career but I think might have been a brainstorm. Some internal blunt force trauma convinced him that if he pouted thoughtfully enough while taking his dark glasses off before putting them on again, we might finally register the iconic perfection of his face.

On screen he stands sideways no matter what, just so that we can see his face from all angles. The director, perhaps per contract, cooperates by closing in until Caruso's face fills the frame. It remains, however, just a face, which is the very thing that the iconic face refuses to do.

    here's the whole article

seriously, the only tv i rush home for is deal or no deal.
  • @DDD - very keen on Skins and yes, last night's episode was a good one. When I saw the first few episodes, I wasn't sure about this new crop but I actually now think this is better than old series...it has more depth (despite the wanton violence)!

I will rush home if Everton are on the box (quite a lot recently)!

  • Don't really make a point of watching much on TV any more. Only Skins really, and I catch up on QI (and pretty much any other panel show), Waterloo Road and some documentaries (usually Horizon or Channel 4) on iPlayer. Reruns of comedies on E4, Sky and Paramount keep me entertained.
Watch plenty of American stuff downloaded as I can get it in HD:
House (simply the best TV show ever made by anyone, ever)
    Heroes
    Lost
    Desperate Housewives
The Office (US version is now very funny, much much better than it was)
    Family Guy
    Simpsons
    Scrubs
How I Met Your Mother (the new, funnier Friends, and so underappreciated in this country)
    Plus Grey's Anatomy, 30 Rock...
Now I look at it, that's a lot. I almost died during the writers' strike last year.

Oh god how did I forget QI! and lost and heroes! although I preferred the first series of heroes when it was on sci fi and there was only about 14 people in the country watching it.

Me and the wife were talking about CSI miami and wondering if it was deliberately sh1te in a homage to miami vice kinda way. I was so excited when horatio got shot at the end of the lsat series

    Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe.

Not that I rush anywhere for it, that seems a bit antiquated these days. I can't wait for Lost to finish, it's getting beyond stupid now and I need to claim back 45 mins of my week.

I can't wait for Lost to finish either as then there'll be 45 mins more screentime for decent TV.

But it was a serious question! I have a sky+ in London and a sky+ in Essex full of shows I've recorded (CSI, QI, other bits) which I don't have time to watch... and that's only equivalent to about 4 shows a week max!

I don't get it. Where is the time coming from? Even with my experimental sleep schedule I don't have time for TV!

As bad as David Caruso is, I'd still sooner watch Miami than NY.On NY they seem to feel they have to spell out everything ("You mean... he was poisoned?" or whatever) for any idiots that might be watching, it just seems really lame compared to the original. And some of the storylines are just ridiculous.

They all have to spell out the science part for the american audience. I think the thing that bothers me about miami is it's more of a cop show than CSI now, it used to be good at the beginning, when horatio fired that bazooka at the terroist heading for the nuclear plant I just thought oh come on, isn't there anyone else in the miami dade police force.

On the other hand vegas is perfect I loved it last season (ooh get me) when they had adam and jamie from mythbusters on I thought they got a lot of CSI death from mythbusters, ooh there another one for the list Mythbusters is ace. Mmm Kari Byron hubba hubba
