Ludlow ride this Sunday for those who i havent sent an invite to.

10:15 a the Duke William, Use Wyre forest VC postcode.

Ride to start at 11am-ish

2-3 hours 13-20 miles depending on conditions, fitness of group!

Hope to see people there!

And I'm kinda double booked...although I said yes to Ludlow first the bike shop want me to join them on a (road!) ride on Sunday...they've even arranged a proper road bike for me rather than my heavy duty hybrid and though I've said sorry I double booked and am going elsewhere they still seem to think I am going with them too.....
Would clearly much rather go to Ludlow! Any advice on how to say no without offending greatly received!!

Yes, I hope he is OK.

I thought it sounded like the camber from the report, it's quite easy to slip off the path in places.

I'm getting there earlier and hoping to have a quick blast around the dog first...so if you get off early come and join me!! How long does it take you to do the dog.. on a bad day?

I usually do it in just under an hour at a steady pace. I think 48 mins was my tops but I was on a mission that day and didn't stop at all!
Not making any weekend plans until nearer the time - working Sat anyway so that's out but may be ok for Sunday, depending on the homework I get this week :roll:

The Dog feels much faster than it used to be ie shorter, I raced it on my own after warming up on the Monkey ( and loads of cake ) 55mins using the fire road rather than the near impossible zig zag climb up the trees which is just mud city.

1 of my mates was timed on the old route at 38mins but he used to be very fast.

Yes it is a tad shorter now and also missing the totally fantastic chainslapper that runs along the side of the road. That was the best bit, so fast and flowing. I met a guy from Chase Trails when I was up there a few weeks back and he said it was still useable despite all the branches etc that have been dumped at the start so I decided to give it a go, went round the branches, got on the bike and started to blast down there. He clearly had no idea that 'someone' had since put a load more debris about a third of the way down, right after one of the sharp bends. Good job I wasn't in top gear as it would have been nasty, as it was I managed an emergency stop. But looking further down the lower half of the trail is now just a dumping ground for branches and other bits of tree. Gutted

I think quite a few of the locals are doing the "Oktoberfest" so aren't out this Sunday!
I might do a ride but i'm not altogether sure yet and i proberly won't know till friday but if i do i let you know

Has anyone been out in the Wyre? Is it really muddy?

and is anyone going out tomorrow night?

Debs is 3pm the earliest you can make it on Friday? There are possible 8 of us now!
