Just catching up with the Forum.
Sorry to hear about your leg LiT. Hope you get well soon.

Don't be tempted to Randolph that leg, it will eventually healRule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

Yep, lugging an extra 80kg around would definitely do the trick!!0 -
I just thought of something funny...
Go to this thread from a while back, go to page 4 and check this out... it was the thread from when I pulled my foot out of the shoe...Feltup wrote:lost_in_thought wrote:Oh and I know how to adjust the tension, thanks Crapaud. I tightened it up after I kept pulling the shoe out of the pedal. More fool me - now the shoe is the weak link.
Crank up the shoe and the pedal and now your ankle is the next weak link! Where will it end?
Feltup - any other prophecies?
:shock:0 -

Cor, hard luck. I was just thinking how tight my tendons felt on the back of my legs as well.
I have a tendency to lean forward and push back on them in an attempt to stretch them, will stop doing that now!
Just purchased some leg warmers actually but they're too small (the top of one of my legs is 31 inches round, that's bigger than my boss's waist size), and my ankles are a foot around each.
£35 quid as well and I can't send them back cos I had to take the tags off to try them on.
So if anybody can recommend leg warmers that would fit an oil rig please feel free to do so!0 -

Are you sure you aren't using the "cm" side of the tape measure?0 -
I had another profound thought - this thread is about an achilles injury.
Surely it should be "the moral of this story is WEAR SOCKS"?0 -

AT, you are truly the philosopher of this thread. I was wearing socks.
And Feltup, it's ok, I won't shoot the messenger. Next time I'll listen...
And thanks for the ongoing prophecies. I'm still planning to obtain a nice shiny new bike, I just won't be able to ride it for a while.0 -
Poor you. That sucks, most horribly.
But in a helpful vein, I heartily recommend Six Physio. In fact I rave about them. Total total geniuses. They do rehab and pain relieving stuff and worked miracles on me. At end May I couldn't even walk to my local shop as my knees hurt so much, but by beginning of September I managed to cycle to Paris with no pain. Geniuses, I tell you.
In the meantime, possibly catch up on wine/lie ins and chips?0 -

I'll look them up!!
And yes, the wine cellar and I are going to be getting re-acquainted now I'm home... I can't drive, so I'll have a drink!
However, there will be no chips... I'm hopeless at dieting and rely on exercise to keep my weight down, so I'll be eating a jacob's cracker a day and nothing else. Honest!0 -

would that be a Christmas Cracker then?
How will you make a living now you can't drive your truck?
So many pointless questions. Get well and dream of shiny new bikes. If I foresee anything over the Christmas break I will be sure to keep it to myselfShort hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

A new bike you can't ride. How frustrating will that be??I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I might get a custom build so it takes longer to arrive...
Oooooooooh that's a GREAT excuse0 -
I'm a bit late to this thread, but sorry to hear about your pains LiT. Rest up over Christmas and think of all the lovely rides you can do in 2009.Today is a good day to ride0
