Just resurrected this thread to say that if you fancy something more challenging than Sandal beat wood (I ride sandal beat regularly), come to Steetley quarry on Sat or Sun if you don't already.
Recently there has been some good trail development in the woods, usually some 20-30 riders if it's fair weather.
There is also the quarry itself which is freeride heaven.

how many miles can you do in the woods mate, from hull and always looking at new areas to ride, mainly do dalby/moors/peaks and dales?????

The trails are fairly short, about 1 mile long. They are really for dh/freeriders due to the steep and rocky terrain.

I also go up there fairly regularly so if it's an open invite please count me in!!!

I live in cusworth so go down the TPT passed the boat inn (unless temptation gets the better of me especially on a Sunday afternoon!!) up and over the old railway viaduct and back down through the quarry / woods and out at the hairpin

you'd have to go easy though as i'm wrong side of 35 and not very fit

Tuesday sounds good to me too. I suppose it depends on everyone elses work times but I finish at 5(ish) so dependent on mode of transport (bike or car) i can be at boat inn from work in anything between 10mins and half an hour. Might go on the bike on Tuesday for first time this year as clocks will have altered.

look forward to meeting you guys some time tuesday evening

Well I work in Sheff and don't usually get back to donny until half 6! Is half 7 ok with you guys? I wasn't planning on bringing the bike because I thought it would be dark by then and don't fancy leaving it outside!

I might be paying a visit to steetly tomorrow afternoon as I finish at 3 tomorrow so would be there around 4 from work!

hey ash, think we're all planning on meeting up for a beer and a chat in a couple of weeks to see when people like to go riding most!

I usually go to Steetly one or twice a week, if you see someone with a blue n black full face helmet riding a grey GT its me!

I don't know if anyone would be interested, but there will be a DH race held at Steetley on Sunday at 11am. £2 entry, beer and trophies if you win.

I also spoke to a guy called Niel if I remember correctly who posts on here. Nice to meet a fellow bike radar user. 8)

    Howdoooo :)

I'm 31...guess what iron i have  ...and have been riding at sprotbrough flash/steetly since i was a kid...also venture out to derbyshire and wales....nant y arian is awesome...keep goin back...

hurt my back few years back and now an office type workwise so not in the shape i was and back gives me grief a bit..so im a tootler and a pootler (are they words?) and up for a laugh etc..but dont do the silly stuff anymore...

just been updating the bike a little lately so bobbed on to have a look at some stuff and spotted this.

if anything gets sorted i'd be up for it.

    regards chris
