  • Hi

Well - I'm a cyclist and female, however, if you hit me on yur bike and I landed in a heap on the road - you would need to run for your life - I'd deck you.

Hmm, weirdly I just got given a message back saying my post was "not appropriate" :?

Very odd as I didnt swear, use insulting language or have a go at anyone and kept it on topic (unlike some there who went into licensing and cars). I guess some just dont like a little logic.

Yep got the same...so I replyed:

    "Please remove my profile.

It seems my comments and suggestions aren’t valid.

However it’s alright for car drivers to complain about cyclists, but not for cyclist to complain about car drivers or any other road users.

Please remove me from your one sided, anti cycling website

    Many thanks"

    Yeah, I was pi$$ed off :D

In my post I even presented two potential cures for RLJing... some people are happy to moan and dont want a solution (10 second cycle-green light at ASLs for one)

    Hi downfader,

I too think that, that is an excellent idea have a green with a cycle on it to allow cyclist to start off first giving us enough time to clear the junction before the rest of the traffic. I feel the turning left on red is also a good idea too.

Spread the word on the cycle-green

Not too sure of the turn left on red situation... the roads around here would be a bit tricky for it imo. If I want to get around safely and theres nothing there I just get off and walk around - the beauty of the bike. :D

The good thing about the left at red "solution" is it a)gets cyclists out of the blind spot of lorries/HGVs, and b) would cost nothing (well compared to other solutions) to implement.

Having a separate green light would be great, but it would cost a stack of money to put extra green lights on all traffic lights, 4 lights on each junction, all the wiring to go with it and the man hours to fit it to every traffic light controlled junction in the country.

The Law is there at the moment, whether people choose to obey it, is up to them.
