That's what I love about German!

Actually I quite like that about German too, but don't tell anyone

It's hardly Euro bashing, most comments have been directed at one country........

Besides what do you expect, the whole commuting area in general seems to find it rather hard to stay on topic and we positively pride ourselves on our ability to go completely OT in such a huge fashion :-)

Wowee, there's off topic, and then there is off topic, has the OP even dared to come back and post?

    Poor fella!

Incidently, and just to perpetuate the off topic-ness further still, my favourite beer is Abbot Ale - as per the piccie posted a few pages back.

Apologies for the size of the pic........I think it might be to scale though, depending on your screen resolution....

I just plumbed "Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz" into Google translator, it comes back with the mighty "Beef Labeling Act surveillance mission transfer"

    Wha, da fuh?

So I tried "Elfenbeinküstenaturschutzparkleitergeländewagensch althebelbruchreparaturversuchbewilligungzurückweisungsantragsformular ausfüllungshilfebegleitzettel" now Google struggled with this one initially it came back with "
Elfenbeinküstenaturschutzparkleitergeländewagensch althebelbruchreparaturversuchbewilligungzurückweisungsantragsformular help fill accompanying note" so I added a few spaces using my limited knowledge of Deutsch and got the monumental

"Elves include protection of natural coastal terrain park manager gearshift dare break repair experimental permit rejection of aid application form accompanying note"

    Genau indeed!

Linsen, was ist das? Ich kann ein bischen Deutsch spreche aber langsam bitte (you'll probably have to correct me there.)

What have you been saying to us Linsen? Come on now, fess up.
    "Impressive break"

    "Thanks...

Attica you are very good with your online translation - I'll be out of a job soon

I haven't a clue what they mean. Something to do with burocratic nonsense -they are good at that.

Also, Ich werde ganz langsam sprechen. Das hat irgendwie mit Elfenbein (ivory) zu tun. Ausserdem habe ich keine Ahnung....
